From what I see Meizu have slighty better chance for a base android update, while Xiaomi has better chance for a 3rd party rom as they usualy release the kernel source code (even it's a year later) and an unlocked bootloader

I... moreActually all the meizu phone have the ability to be updated to lollipop at flyme 4.5, of course they still have to be relatively new like from this year or two. It just may be the specific software version you have. There is I for international, a for China, and so on. If your unable to upgrade just go Google on how to update it and you'll find the solution by manually flashing the update that should be available to you through their upgrade app.

I have Meizu note 1 and it's still based on kitkat 4.4 and handset is not even a 1 year old. If you buy Meizu forget about updates customer support is poor, boot loader is locked, so I'll switch to Xiaomi, but wait! Xiaomi Mi 4 (last year Xiaomi flagship) is still on android 4.4.

Yun OS is an illegal Android and Linux fork, and google really hate it.

Nice specs and quite cheap price, but the front looks a bit like the older gen iPhone....Still, i think its worth the price.

Can I have a source for this claim ? Even on Meizu's site they clearly wrote powered by YunOS.. THIS IS NOT AN ANDROID PHONE !
