math, 25 Nov 2014then you are fooooolll enough to switch cause you will regretss too much soonI don't see how I would regret it, ALL the apps I use are on the Windows store, their are 3rd party apps like MetroTube an My tube that can EASILY replace my most used app, youtube, I hated how they removed preloading on youtube, I used that feature all the time when I was planning a long road trip and I knew I'd pass through a rural area where my Data might not have coverage. So far I'm loving the fact that all the apps that I use are on WP in some form. I've been with Android all my life, I'm unbiased, i have both IOS And Android devices but I never gave Windows a chance, 8.1 is very tempting and wp 10 will be a great improvement.

Anonymous, 25 Nov 2014I've heard that At an unspecified time next year, Microsoft plans to drop Windows Phone entire... moreDude.... microsoft not dropping anything with W10...
Here you need to keep few things first,
1-if you check apple and android then both platforms has single app store for phones, tablets n desktops. means developers makes single app code n only chane UI according to screen sizes.
2- but if you check microsoft products.. every platform has different app stores. means wp has wp app store, tablets has different app store n desktop w os has different app store.. I think even xbox console os also has different app store.
so major problem here is deveopers needs to write different codes of apps for different microsoft stores. n then they need to further future development seperatly for every app...
take example of any app here like facebook. developers of facebook needs here to write fb app seperately for every store of microsoft products n need to maintain every app n its future updates seperatly.. which is very time consuming..
so with W10 microsoft combining all app/games development codes/APIs for phones, tablets, desktops n xbox one in one combine package..
one windows family (phones, tablets, desktop, xbox console, IoT) one app store with w10..
whole this app development process is known as Universal apps which available on all OSes.
whole this process is very important for app devs by which devs can write single code of app n only change UI according to screen sizes.. so devs no need to keep control different apps on.different microsoft app stores.
only universal app concept coming which attract app developers to create apps for wp as well.
also w10 is another major update for wp as well n microsoft preparing lots of major surprises n huge changelog..
and microsoft already confirmed that all wp8 onwards devices are upgradable to w10 for phones...
about name... microsoft dropping "phone" word from wp... only windows for all microsoft OS..
ONE windows family One app store...
so don't worry ms not dropping wp OS. they only upgrading to future use...
I've heard that At an unspecified time next year, Microsoft plans to drop Windows Phone entirely, instead opting for the Windows 10 tag across all platforms., what this this mean for all windows phones and should I be worried if I make the switch.

There might have been some problem with allowing their apps in WP store and that's it. If they had that "cheap" intention, then they would not have allowed their apps on iOS because it's bigger thread than WP to them.

Trick 1- moliplayer pro has 15days trial period. after 15days it pops to purchase. just uninstall it n reinstall n you get another 15days.. do this after every 15days.
Trick 2- change your phone region to china n restart your phone.
china app store has two moliplayer apps. one is freen other is paid.
just search moliplayer free n download.
then again set your region to default n restart your phone.
another good news is official "VLC Media player" is coming any time soon to all wp users totally free of cost.

Anonymous, 25 Nov 2014I'd LOVE to make the switch from Android to Windows phone but truth be told, I'm afraid of fee... moreActually I did switch to windows phone 8 from android (as I bought lumia520) . at start it was real good experience which hardware (camera especially) .but software side many games and apps missing tat I used to in android like clash of clans ,mxplayer ,flash transfer ( still these apps not in wp).as days went the probs became serious as no file manager and I cudnt find the files which is taking memory many video formats wasn't supporting those memory was invisible and for everything I needed PC to do sorting .if I need PC for all wats the reason on buying smartphone. The apps can't be shared with others like in android so we need to download each time and can't take back up of apps like we do in android. So I went back to android but now wp8.1 came with some gud features and apps like file manager too but still not entirely flexible like driod .here maps is awesome than google maps especially I love offline support.
My word is this wp8.1 is good (still need more apps) if u can live with less video format supports(moliproplayer is close to MX player but paid app). No app sharing , no flash transfers( I use it all time to share movies from friends) . and u get smoothness of wp no lag awesome inter face ,here maps ,nice camera apps then go for lumia .remember after some days android lags unlike windows
I'd LOVE to make the switch from Android to Windows phone but truth be told, I'm afraid of feeling like I'm going to miss something, I'm not much of a gamer, I play on Consoles so game quantity isn't an issue for me. Is their anyone who has made the switch before who has stayed on this platform? Was it difficult to make the switch over and do you miss anything from android? It'd be a huge help of someone replied.
