Hi guys. I used Lumia 520 for about 2.5 years. Impressed by windows user interface I had pretty much decided that even my next one would be windows. Windows 10 was available on expensive ones like 950. But then i got to know about this mid level priced lumia 550 has inbuilt windows 10. So i bought it instantly without giving it much of a thought. Pretty impressive look. Nice hd screen. Pixel density about 312 ppi i guess. So overall a good looking phone. Problem starts when you start using it. Lumia 550 is really slow. Clearly it can be seen that windows10 is in a developing stage. Software crashes every now and then. Internet speed is too slow if you compare with androids of the same range of even lower. Having said that obviously that interface is still so good. Its definitely a productivity phone as they call it. But there's a lot of work to be done in it. Surely after an year or so windows10 will be as smooth running android, and i hope it does.

as i use a lumia 540 windows phone 8 and this feature is not working
so is it available on widows phone 10 ?
and is there a way to make it work on lumia 540 ?

I also brought Lumia 550 recently and I have also noticed the same issues. I just want to tell you that the battery problem you are taking about is not related to software update. It's an hardware issue, but still you can try a few things to fix it. If you are using any type of cover for the phone, consider removing it if you are using the device for a long period. Next thing you can try is switching off unnecessary background apps in settings and also switching off auto sync in calendar, mail, one drive and Microsoft edge. Do same with other third party apps, for example apps like runtastic automatically sync in background and works even under lock screen. You can always change this in their settings. Lastly, you can turn on battery saver mode when you know you won't be able to charge yoiur phone for an extended period; for example travelling.

I have bought a Microsft Lumia 550 on 24.01.2016. Recently, I have faced some problems. 1st Battery charge lost soon, 2nd Hanging problem, 3rd IMO not supported, 4th Heating problem during Internet using. For solving these problems, I reset phone. Then, Update the OS ............164. But Heating Problem, IMO supported & Lost Charge soon are existing. How ever, suggest me if anybody know about these problems.

For some reason the Lumia 550 just doesn't allow tethering for PS4. If you try to connect PS4 via Lumia 550s tethering the Lumia freaks out and you need to restart it.

Anonymous, 24 Mar 2016Samsung better i think, More Apps and win 10 is disaster system messy.I think Windows 10 is still under development but I feel its much secure and also less resource needy to run. Its true that Android has more apps. But Samsung is not even a worth mentioning in comparison. As I have seen all smamsung phones (almost all) die in 2 yrs time. Buying anyother brand than Samsung is better.

lumia phones have many problems. os have to develop. its even not show photos and videos in gallery. you have to search for every thing . dont buy.

This phone is amazing. I've never seen such a good-looking phone with a good-looking HD screen at this price point. Everything is very fluid about this phone. What a great offering from MS!!!

Im really happy with this phone, it has good screen, not laggy. The only problem here is the camera. I am not expecting a good photo because yhis is nit a flagship phone. My problem is when I snap a photo, the results are really bad bec. of the "Adding the finishing touches... feature. It doesnt help, it make the photos look bad.

Everyone down there!! the battery draining problem and windows loading is not the fault of phone, but the OS which it is running on now. Hope windows fixes it soon. The OS release till is just a preview build. Its not complete, many issues had to be fixed in future!
