Lumia 550 is a better phone.but it would be much better if they add some feature like clear black display,corning gorila glass 3,cracth resistance glass and ips lcd display.We will pay for those if they attach.Reall I am a big fan of windows phone:-)

If MS stert using better chipsets,than they wont be able to keep the price down.
On the other hand Windows doesnt need that much power.It will work just fine even vith 210 SoC

Features are not impressive. Why Microsoft still stuck up with Adreno 200 variants for their class 1 entry level tier, no difference with 2 Years old Nokia lumia.

Microsoft should first improved/give more care to the budget lumia features, for the general public to get familiar and impress with Wd10 platform.
This is an old tactic, but it could set a solid milestone for Microsoft future lumias.
Because, high end lumias wouldn't be affordable by millions, especially in the developing countries. Without the common people's support, lumia market could still remain stagnant. This could further push up Chinese smartphones to occupied all available free space globally and Microsoft would be regretted later on.

The only wow! Factor about the new Microsoft Lumia 550 is the expandable memory card slot of up to 200 GB and the Windows 10 operating system, provided the information about the phone is correct.Why would a budget windows 10 phone be fitted with only 2 Mega pixel for selfie or video calls, and only 5 MP for rear camera ? If I were Microsoft, I would improve the specifications of the budget and business class phones to make them more attractive to buyers, particularly in developing countries where it is fashionable to compare the specifications of 'Pure Chinese Phones ' that are budget friendly but the user lacks seamless experience with other phone companies that guarantee seamless experiences but are a bit expensive, and seems to maintain or recycle their specifications with minor adjustments -while maintaining the unique specifications meant for the high-end ones or the top-notch.If phone companies like Infinix, Huawei, lenovo, and Gionee are incorporating lots of specifications in their budget friendly phones,why shouldn't Microsoft, the giant, have a rethink ?

Lumia 540 could be a much better budget phone if Microsoft would increase its RAM to at least 2GB and upgrade or protect its Screen with corning gorrilla glass 3 technology.The sound quality of the phone's speaker will also have to be looked into.

This means the microUSB port is only for charging, not data.

Cheap phone but good and it will certainly get future updates, something you can't say cheap androids will get. Worth it's money, especially when they will do the first price cut.

I think its a best phone in this price range considering its OS i.e. W10. It has glance screen, Quad Core processor, 1GB RAM which works perfect in Windows. Those saying its a bad phone, seriously they should not even look at Windows phones. They rather use that ugly Android phones.

Aya ! only 3GB inbuilt memory for user and 1GB RAM.
What a wasted of time on doing so much research by Microsoft.
I do rather choose Lenovo K3 note at the same price range.

1.Lumia 550 has Gorilla glass 3 screen protection, 2.Fast battery charging, 3.15GB free One Drive storage.
4.Continuum is certain as parts of WD10 OS features, will be available for all lumia with Wd 10, coming out directly from the box.

It's very much essential for all touchscreen smartphone against scratched and Cracks from pocket keys, pen etc.

Still the price is 140 dollar almost 9k rupee
I don't know what's Microsoft is thinking. The price should be 100 dollar not more
Many OEM are giving
at least snapdragon 410 and some are giving snapdragon 615 in this price range with 3gb of ram
So yes this phone is failure
Microsoft need to learn something from other OEM if they want to survive in the games of smartphones world
