May i ask somethind, why most of you are reffering to 8.1 , when win10 is by default the os for 550?? (isn't it??)
Here many of the negative reviews comes from the nokia fans, they already decided in their mind that nokia is far better than Microsoft lumia, so they got nothing just fault in them but in reality its a very good phone, anywhere read the expert review of 550, they clearly told that its best lumia of X50 series in every aspect. Ya wp10 is not as stable (smooth) as 8.1 but it not even like those who are complaining, in featurewise its far better than 8.1 & RS1 update is almost equivalent stable as 8.1. Anyone who faces problem in wp10 update then update your phone to rs1 update then hard reset your phone, then it will working fine
I totally agree with all your opinions and thoughts, but to fix 'em all below are few suggestions :
- Once you get the device, never update your windows os to any available updates.
- In case, If you have already updated your phone to the latest version available, kindly reset your phone right away.
- Update only those required apps through windows store
- You can never downgrade your windows os from 10 to 8.1
Hopefully these suggestions should as it is totally working fine for me.
Everything is just wrong with this phone, actually problem is operating system, windows 10.
I shouldn't even start naming problem, since there's so many of them.
My initial Lumia 550 is very bad now a days. Especially the battery. It drains 5 times faster in battery savermode than Lumia 520 without battery saver mode. Should I update this to Redstone 1..?? Or should I wait for Redstone 2..??? Plz reply anyone who really knows. And if possible plz reply me on firstname.lastname@example.org... I'm really freaking out. Help.
In-spite of so many negative reviews and comments, I still have a good experience with this device. I guess the problems where mostly when the product was launched with buggy win10. After updates, I guess it is a very good value for money phone. It is a perfect phone for me. May be, expectations vary.
Lumia 550 cannot handle whatsapp, cannot send voice messages, sometimes cannot open pictures, some times goes in tilt and need to be turned off. Battery is very limited, not enough even for one day, 550 passes most of the day plugged in battery charging

Avoid this phone like the plague. Microsoft has taken a massive leap backwards from where the Nokia phones where.
My battery won't last through the day anymore (even with zero use and everything turned off). Microsoft won't cover it under warranty because it is 8 days over the 6 month warranty period. And don't expect decent customer service from them either.
Do your self a favour and buy a decent phone...

I'm not into social media anymore and I am looking for a phone for music and a little web browsing from time to time. I don't play games and I don't need too many apps. Is the Lumia 550 good enough for that? Or should I go look for something else?
