I own a Lumia 830 with 1GB of RAM and a 2200mAh battery and the battery life has been great. It gets me through at least 1.5 days of my usage. My Moto G 2014 from work has similar specs but a slightly smaller battery (2070mAh) and gets me through the entire work day. Usually have about 15% around 10pm (off the charger at 7:30am). To me specs don't matter too much, it's the OS that should be optimized to work with what you use it with. Windows 8.1 has been great for me as well as Android 5.0 on my Xperia C4, Xperia Z3, Moto G 2014. Even my iPhone 5s has been great on the latest iOS. The more higher spec'ed phones usually require more power so the extra RAM and larger battery should be there.
I'm keeping an opened mind on this device until I have a chance to use it. I'm thinking of buying the 550 just to give W10 a try, I've read lots of comments and reviews on how unstably and buggy it was when release with the 950/950XL.
Good, but I don't know why Microsoft is cutting down overall specs of it predecessor models at same price..already known OS is dying .. And with this specs?? Microsoft is druken sure.. I used 630,925,525,n,640xl even they good in specs .. But this specs no body gonna buy it..
for crying out loud..we are year 2016 not 2013 and you're offering a 2000mAh battery..smh!!!..i love windows but i simply can't buy a 2000mAh battery phone..am done..
This phone has no compass?? Some apps REQUIRE compass! This phone is handicapped!!
=1GB RAM(will be soon outdated )
=2000mAh battery for 5" screen(battery not proportionate to HD screen ratio)
=720 ppi video resolution capacity(camera + processor capacity is too low for 2016)
Lumia 650 features is not worthy of its Price.
Let the shoppers decided by themselves.
When I bought the lumia 625 everyone said the same thing, that 512mb Ram is enough for windows phone...now most of the good apps don't work on it...650 can't even handle 1080p video...don't tell me its better than 200$ android phones which shoots 4k...
LUMIA EXPERINCE, 10 Mar 2016To Andrei
Do you know what you are talking about?
It is true that android os is to much to... moreDon't worry guy, most (Chinese origin) Android budget smartphone in the bazaar with 2GB+ RAM in 2016,at half the price of this lumia 650.
Some Android flagship smartphone now available with 6GB RAM.
AnonD-513134, 10 Mar 2016sorry to disapoint you, but android is not heavy, all those things that slows down the os are ... moreMate, Android takes a massive amount of memory. It seems you haven't checked your storage in settings recently and if I may ask. Which smartphone do you use as the new high end android devices have quite a lot of their memory taken up by the OS. I myself use htc one m9 as my daily device and it takes 11.36GB for the system.
Secondly you may have not noticed but also ios has started working on the customization bit since the launch of ios 8 and slowly improving on it. So that cannot be an excuse. An example of a customization is changeable keyboards.
Don't mean to be rude but just informing you.
android using java programming
ios using objective c/swift
windows mobile os using c#
to all android fans there research which is more heavy programming language :)
Do you know what you are talking about?
It is true that android os is to much to a phone thats why high ram is needed
to the smartphone. Put your self using 512 ram and your running android kitkat, lollipop and marshmallow that will show you what is the real thing about android os using high ram/ demanding in terms of ram and storage also you can check to your system if your a tech person....DEEP TECH PERSON.
overpriced - checked
low spec - checked
DYING OS - checked
GO HOME MICROSOFT, YOU'RE DRUNK.
AnonD-230773, 10 Mar 2016for all those arguing about other phones such as android devices having a higher ram. this is ... moresorry to disapoint you, but android is not heavy, all those things that slows down the os are called costumization properties, something IOS and Windows user never had a chance to experiment
for all those arguing about other phones such as android devices having a higher ram. this is because the android OS is too heavy and therefore, the high-end devices end up having high amount of ram, as for iphone and windows devices, the OS isnt as heavy as android and therefore, it can run absolutely smoothly with a lower ram and even less cores. hope that was understandable. if any other info required about any device, you may ask me at email: email@example.com
1GB RAM would become a laughing stock, for any smartphone by early 2017.
4GB/6GB RAM would become common for most flagship smartphone in 2016.
