Anonymous, 02 Oct 2016It's utterly embarrassing for MS that they continue to over price their phones. While Google e... moreIt did drop considerably. 950 dropped to $399 while ago but today it's $359 + free dock.
Also AT&T version is only $298 (should be possible to unlock for free at AT&T).
first microsoft perches nokia than sale to chines company ,with nokia don't want but done by microsoft . every time microsoft or nokia always say there mobile design leak ? its means there design is best or "there design handset never come to consumer'"over all consumer become full
I recently upgraded to from the NOKIA 930 to the Microsoft 950, as i was told by the dealership that it is such a great phone to much disappiontment. What a terrible device.
With the upgrade (on the first device), the battery did not last even one day, so I took the handset back. After the dealership informed me that there was indeed a default in the phone, they will replace the handset. In which they gave me a different MS 950. What a disgrace....the phone got so hot at times (without it being used) you can't even put the phone to your ear. Again I took the handset back and yip, once again the phone had a default.
Nokia ain't Nokia if its not made by Nokia.....
The brand name(microsoft) not suitable for lumia phones .NOKIA is better than microsoft
It's utterly embarrassing for MS that they continue to over price their phones. While Google et al keep dropping their phones' prices, MS has barely budged with the 950 series.
SwissPro, 25 Sep 2016I was very happy with the Nokia Lumia 925, so I upgraded to the Microsoft Lumia 950 as soon as... moreWindows phones don't have a future no matter what Windows will do.
These are simple phones but most people today go with the trend and look for tons of apps and performance (read Apple and Samsung).
I for one don't care about all the fuss. I just need a simple to use phone with good battery life and loud enough call quality. That's all I need. And I have it with the Windows phone. $700 later, i wish i chose S7
Anonymous, 01 Oct 2016Windows 10 finally performs great on this phone!!! Worth to be bought!!! After latest updates,... morePIECE OF GARBAGE!!! Windows 10 upgrade has rendered it worthless! How do u get the narrator off? It keeps telling me something is wrong with my SD card & it can fix it! Hoooy. it doesn't work either. I hv had a constant headache from trying to fix ALL the bad issues. Going back to an Android in AM. At least it will ring when I get a call or text! This piece of crap doesn't even hv a working GPS!!!
Windows 10 finally performs great on this phone!!! Worth to be bought!!! After latest updates, all big problems resolved, so there is no overheating, crash of apps and restarts the phone, everything performs excellent!!!
Hey guys i have been using lumia 950 since a month its a great phone in all aspects , FYI please format full phone after anniversary update and then use it , this will solve alot of problems like battery drain and heat issue and do not disable text messaging app from background otherwise you will not get any notification for it. Now mine last for a day with normal usage. Cheers
Lumia 950 is very good phone. no any complaint , very good performance. if we have WhatsApp, imo, viber, skype aplications in this phone we should OFF these background apps. then we will get more good performance and battery life from this phone. ( go to settings - privacy - background apps ).
chad, 23 Sep 2016You buying any Lumia phone is a BIG mistake ..They are ending the Lumia phones this December..... moreNo that's incorrect. Lumia will be end of life but Windows 10 mobile continues and will keep getting updates.
It's now 299 euro including dock in the Netherlands on the Microsoft store, both black and white version.
SwissPro, 25 Sep 2016I was very happy with the Nokia Lumia 925, so I upgraded to the Microsoft Lumia 950 as soon as... moreAfter update just hard reset your cell and then use again and stop background apps except some your all issues will be solved
I was very happy with the Nokia Lumia 925, so I upgraded to the Microsoft Lumia 950 as soon as it got out. At first, it was a good experience, save a battery drain problem. But as Microsoft "upgraded" it, it became worse and worse to the point I cannot considering using it anymore for professional usage.
It is unreliable, unstable, erratic and does what it wants. Sometimes, the screen does not react, leaving you infuriated to be unable to pick up an important phone call.
One night, I was confronted to a life and death emergency on the road. I found out to my absolute dismay that the phone was in the process to upgrade itself... Watching the bar inch forward to pass an emergency call while a person is bleeding to death next to you is not an experience I wish to live again (miraculously the person survived).
I am not counting the times when the phone seems normal but cannot receive calls because it expects a sim card code (of course, it rebooted at some point without asking, with superb disregard for scheduled time... Or not considering useful to notify the user that phone is offline). When you find out and the missed calls notifications start to pile in, you'd want to hurl the thing out of the window.
The calendar management is pitiful, does not support google, and does not work well with... Outlook.com (it mixes up the accounts in manners nobody can understand). Continuum is a joke (better use an iPad with iCloud). Groove music is the worst player around. Pictures gallery does not remember where it was when you open a picture (letting you scroll down hundreds of pics to reeume browsing...). I stop here but the list goes on.
I am not a geek. I chose the Lumia because at first it seemed simpler that an Android and better for work than the iPhone. I did not expect that I'd need any sort of technical skills to simply be able to use it when I need it or to make it behave in a common sense manner. To me, it was designed by people who are clueless about how a phone is used in a day-to-day manner. After 11 months of experience, I found that the user experience has considerably degraded, despite the blaring promises.
I must say I LOVE Windows 10 on PC as it is a really good and simple system for non-specialists (who represent the majority). But on the Lumia, it is simply catastrophic.
I think I will never buy another Lumia phone again unless significant and decisive improvements are made. To me, its lack of reliability is close to criminal (a mobile phone is not simply a mobile facebook terminal or a pocket entertainment console, gents. It is a communication device and communication is a very serious thing for many people). As of today, it would be suicidal to trust the Lumia with your life.
Microsoft managed to mess up a very sleek piece of hardware into junk. If they were honest, they would write in big, bold letters on the box:
THIS IS ONLY A TOY, DO NOT USE FOR ANY SERIOUS PURPOSE.
