I have a really bad experience with this phone
Negative points:

- manufacture materials are poor
Positive points:
- the software is better than i expected
- perfect camera
I recently got my hands on the Windows Lumia 950 and, while I think it is a good phone in terms of features, I did notice that the battery doesn't last long (this phone is new and I cannot go a day without charging it) and the phone, when being used, has a problem with overheating. I don't know how to fix this - is it an update that I need to get on the OS?
user, 13 Aug 2016NEWS !!!!!!!! Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary big OS Update is coming, Microsoft confirms .Yes then watch all the crashes, screaming yelling another year no no no i go Android
Much to overpriced for wat is, should be like $50 being in beta mode a lot
The lumia 950 works like a PC.
user, 13 Aug 2016NEWS !!!!!!!! Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary big OS Update is coming, Microsoft confirms .Of course. In the coming years. After three years of usage, Microsoft finally reached the bottom. Platform works as every other beta version app. Slow, produce overheating and full of bugs. No one deserve such a service. Their app updates comes first for Android and iOS.. Shameful acting. People, save your nerves and money. Buy something much better, and offer is rich.

Great device, better than my previous Lumia. Lighter, more stable OS than Windows Mobile 8.1, easy to work with, battery lasts just over a day. No regrets so far.
WinPhoneOwner, 12 Aug 2016Hi, guys!
I looking around for new mobile phone. I like Sony Xperia XA. In Bulgaria it is a g... moreGo for Lumia 950.
Windows OS is far more stable and reliable than android and you're going to have update support from Microsoft much much longer.
Hi, guys!
I looking around for new mobile phone. I like Sony Xperia XA. In Bulgaria it is a good price (Around 300 euros). But actually I am proud owner of Lumia 525. Everyone in my family has android phone, but their phone always have bugs(it may be because they are not good in technologies or their phone are small-level). For two-three years windows OS is good phone and now(because it's no stop Wi-Fi connected) now it has fast drained battery and the most application has bugs. They don't turn on or turn off when I choose them.
Now I am looking for android phones because the most people who use Windows Phone 10(their WinPhone are actually Windows 8.1)are not pleased with. It always has any bugs. But phones, which came with Windows Phone 10 are stabled and they don't have any bugs.
Are I going to change OS (of course android, I don't like iOS) or spend more money and buy Microsoft Lumia 950?
Is it working fine, is it good??
lumia 950 - i got windows os new update (10.0.10586.545).
user, 09 Aug 2016news!!!!! Millions of Android users at risk as security flaw discovered. The privacy ... moreandroid is so unsafe, apparently people don't care about a safe and secure OS. Windows 10 is simply the best OS.
news!!!!! Millions of Android users at risk as security flaw discovered.
The privacy of millions of Android users in Australia has been put at risk after four security flaws were discovered in the chips powering their smartphones and tablets.
A warning has been issued today by security firm Check Point, advising at least 10 million Android users across Australia, and 900 million worldwide, could now be targeted by hackers due to four issues in the Qualcomm chip in the company’s devices.
According to Check Point, the security issue affects most companies using the Android operating system, including Samsung, HTC, LG, Motorola, Sony and Google.
The flaw “can give attackers complete control of devices and unrestricted access to sensitive personal and enterprise data on them”, according to Check Point.
Samsung’s popular Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, Google’s Nexus 5 and 6 series, the HTCs One and the Blackberry DTEK50, advertised as the “most secure Android phone”, are all at risk by the security flaw.
“Odds are, if you have an Android device, you are affected,” the statement said.
Hackers can reportedly use an app to take advantage of the issue.
“An attacker can exploit these vulnerabilities using a malicious app,” the statement said.
“Such an app would require no special permissions to take advantage of these vulnerabilities, alleviating any suspicion users may have when installing.”
Qualcomm has developed a fix for most of the issues with their chip which will be passed onto device manufactures before it is passed onto customers.
In the meantime Check Point has released a tool called QuadRooter Scanner, which can be downloaded from the Google Play app store, which Android users can use to check if their device is at risk.

Lumia 950, 26 Jul 2016Here is my notes regarding Lumia 950. For those people who want to buy this phone my advice is... moreSounds to mike like the phone should have avoided you. Or did you really write about the Lumia 950 or some other phone, because as 950 owner I recognize nothing of these socalled issues you posted??
Amir, 08 Aug 2016I bought this phone last week and at first I thought it is a good phone
But after some times... moreRunning hot while charging was a problem many builds ago, run the updates first if you have just unwrapped it, then comment. It is really not getting hot any more for a long time!
I've used many windows phones, from the early 800, to the 1020 and 1520 and I must say the 1020 and 1520 are still solid working phones, really great and very matured. I still find the 800 usable, and that can't be said about many Android or Apple phones that are that old! If you want to use your phone as long as possible, a MS phone really is the better choice!
In some respects I still slightly prefer the 1520, but then when I grab my 950 again I forget about all that and enjoy the USB-C, with display dock. It feels so luxurious sitting on the sofa with a wireless mouse and mini keyboard, having everything that's already on my phone displayed super large. I can't believe how fast Netflix also works on this device! It is high res instantly! And the display of the device itself is also amazing!!!!
Two of my colleagues have bought the 650 and ditched their Iphones and they use them professionally and are very happy with them too, despite the somewhat simpler hardware the at a first glance these phones feel much like the 950, although the extra's of the 950 can't be underestimated off course. Coming from a heavy, bulky and way too expensive Iphone a 650 isn't that bad a choice.
Then the camera of the 950!! That's something Apple really has to step up to, as they are a bit behind there! Even compared to the Samsung S7 I prefer the lense of the 950 and the larger sensor and higher resolution make it a top notch camera. The S7 focuses a tad faster though, but who knows that might be fixed in updates still due.
The first months I had this phone I was a bit worried, as it was worse as my 1520 in so many ways, but I bought it right when it came out, whilst the 1520 was already a year old when I got it. The updates fixed most of the bugs, and at this point it is really on a level leaving little to complain. I've also joined the development program and reported some bugs over time which have all been ironed out nicely.
There is really nothing about the phone, OS or hardware to be really negatrive about, it should only have some more developers and siftware engineering support by third parties, and if numbers grow that will be inevitable. Just like with anything else, WE can make this happen, nobody else!
Amir, 08 Aug 2016I bought this phone last week and at first I thought it is a good phone
But after some times... moreI bought it also and here are my advice,
1.do the updates, the last build is 10586.494 ,
2.stop frequent sync of mails and other apps,
3. also disasble the photo upload to cloud, and download also.
4.install all apps in the device, not to sd card(go to settings->storage select the sd card and then move the apps to the device.
5. Go to settings and search background apps, dissable every app you dont want to run in the background.
6.set auto brightness of screen.
If you do all of the actions above overheat will almost dissapear and battery life will increase dramatically.
For me the most important factor of battery drain is constant sync of mails and onedrive, as an example if you take pictures and upload them automatically to the cloud there is a huge battery drain, as for the emails sync them for example every 2 hours and ofcourse app updates, do the updates at home not on the road.
I bought this phone last week and at first I thought it is a good phone
