I still use Lumia 950, despite there being no apps or updates for it. I find the windows 10 Mobile interface more appealing than Android or Apple.
The Lumia 950 is the phone and PC in one pocket-class device. While it does suffer from overheating it can be your daily driver in taking calls, browsing the internet and doing desktop tasks, all thanks to hacker who brought full Windows 10 ARM onto it! Credits to imbushuo and gus33000. On woaproject.net you can find tutorials + user help. You can even connect an external display to it, check it out: https://twitter.com/imbushuo/status/1296327525149245442
Still the best phone I ever owned. Pity the battery gave out after 4 years of heavy use. Lack of apps was a problem (especially banks not rolling out their aps for this, HP calculator apps not being available)
Now sitting with a Samsung - high end supposed to be, broke after 2 years and with major irritations of samsung and android UI.
Bluetooth1, 27 Jul 2020Android is an inferior OS. Much worse than Windows 10 mobileI can agree with you. I use Android and Windows 10 Mobile side by side, and I still prefer the latter's fluidity and memory management. Even with my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 running AospExtended ROM and stock UI, it still severely lag during heavy usage. The Lumia 950? Still running fine as usual even with multiple apps running at the same time, and that's before I increased the virtual memory from 256MB to about 1.78GB. When I did that, the OS fluidity goes even smoother than before.
This phone was so far ahead of its time. You look at the features that are now considered "flagship" and the 950 had most of them, in 2015!!!
- wireless charging
- dual sim card
- AMOLED screen
- 3000 mAh battery (in 2015 this phone had some of the best battery life of any of its peers)
- Virtual assistant
- Live tiles
- Always on display
Now Apple and Android have copied or revamped them to fit their design systems, but I still long for this snappy Windows interface on my phone. Still one of the best UI's period.

Our family are all on Android as of 4 months ago. Android is the go.

YUKI93, 17 Jan 2020You want to throw away just because of WhatsApp? I wouldn't. Either I can go for other, better... moreWoA on the Lumia 950 is slow. It's usable but it's slow and most people will mess up their phone trying to install it. However it has one huge benefit - it can run Win32 programs which no other phone can do (except the lumia 950 XL with WoA)

Either I can go for other, better alternatives such as Telegram... or use the 950 for LumiaWoA project, which is basically installing Windows 10 ARM PC OS onto the phone. If you still need WhatsApp, there are bucket loads of Android and iOS phones out there.
It's so disappointed that either is WhatsApp discontinued supporting or Windows discontinuing WhatsApp communication app. Now, the whole phone can throw away ...
Support for Windows 10 mobile (on 1709) is ending on January 14th 2020 :(
SadLumia950User, 04 Dec 2019Was comparing specs of the Samsung 10e and IPhone XR, my Lumia 950 beats both of them in most ... moreThe processor really is getting on a bit now. If this is an Android device, that'll be it. I do have to buy a new phone. But this being a Windows 10 Mobile device, I'm still amazed by its fluidity.
I'll still keep on using it despite the fact that Microsoft no longer officially supports it. It really is a breath of fresh air after I had left the Android bandwagon. Now I see no reason to go back to it other than mobile entertainment purposes.
Emporius, 08 Nov 2019Till this day no phone got this ~564 ppi density...enough saidActually there is. You may wanna check Sony Xperia phones, the 5.8" XZ2 Premium has 765 ppi because of its proper 4K screen. The Z5 Premium before it also has proper 4K screen at 5.5", which resulted in 806 ppi.
Any phone that uses QHD screen at 5" and above can easily get around the same ppi as this Lumia: https://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?fDisplayInchesMin=5&nDisplayDensityMin=550&nOrder=3
Was comparing specs of the Samsung 10e and IPhone XR, my Lumia 950 beats both of them in most areas except the main processor!! Better camera, better screen, better lenses, -----.
Really unfortunate that Microsoft abandoned their mobile OS, and their loyal customers.
