The Microsoft Lumia 950XL was ahead of its time! Yes, Apple had more apps but whatever app I needed for business worked proficiently and fun apps were plenty. Bleeding end tech from a CPU, RAM, expandable storage, seamless compatibility to sync phone to PC/laptop with ease. The day came when while sitting down into a Recaro seat my screen/digital display cracked beyond repair. It wasn't until the representative at the Genius bar assisting with my data migration asked if they could examine my phone, wow's were had highlighting the Lumia 950XL display, CPU, expandable storage and USB-C were ahead of the latest released iphone. Post 3 years, iphone is OK but I really miss the Microsoft phone for speed, seamless sync, expandable storage (no one done with paying for cloud storage) and clarity on voice/video

you could do living images basically a bit like gif and i think you could save the photo in raw, i never check it in 950 so i'm not sure. but in lumia 1020 there's definitely a raw format

About 16:9 aspect ratio, my question is, what would be the maximum resolution in 16:9 ratio, it probably isn t full 20 megapixel, but less, thats what I meant, how high the resolution of the image is.

i recently bought an android phone,s20fe 5g to be exact. mainly for emulation and surprisingly the w10m still hold its power, with all those newer technology, features and stuff in s20fe 5g and android 13 with oneui 5.1, i still decided to use both s20fe 5g and lumia 950 since there are still few features still lacking on s20fe 5g. you would be surprise how many of those latest software features on android 13 with oneui 5.1 are in w10m

not sure about audio, but it's definitely unable to play hevc video, like av1,x265 and stuff. i don't understand your second question, whether it's the camera resolution in 16:9 format or the screen itself. for the third one, a bit of confusions, whether it's about security or the phone usability.
for the security, well so far i didn't encounter issues but i definitely wouldn't do banking/money transfer on it. for the usability, it's depend with your usecase.for me it's still usable, it's still my daily driver but that's because i don't do much with my windows phone. mainly just reading article,browsing, reading manga, and watching video. if you looking for game or emulator in wp10, you're out of luck. i don't do social media, so i'm not sure whether the third party apps still working or not,for communication there's basically only telegram left. sms and calling still work perfectly fine, camera(videos and pictures) still look very much decent, especially if you also utilize the manual mode, few apps still working fine, although it's not really plenty of them.browsing internet still decently functional although you might notice there are few issues here and there, i still love reading manga on wp10,those 16:9 ratio just perfect for manga. watching video, like i said for newer/newest compression like hevc, you're going to have a tough time here,other than that it's still looks mighty fine

I forgot to add, can I disable iris scanner, or is it always on, if its always on, would putting tape over light stop it.

Anonymous, 08 Mar 2023What do you mean no support?microsoft already stop all official supports for windows phone 8.1 and windows 10 mobile from 2019 if i'm remember correctly, basically no os update,no security patches and stuff,and since microsoft stop supporting the os,basically there are no development for the apps itself.you still able to connect to the server of microsoft store in windows 10 mobile but not sure how many decent apps are still functional and available for the mobile platform. and for the case of windows phone 8.1 you can't even access the microsoft stores and pretty much all apps which needs to connect to microsoft server for its to run are dead

Does anybody... moremicrosoft said theoretically it could handle 2tb microsd card but i doubt it could handle without some kind of issues. i'm not sure about 512gb but some people tried 400gb before and it kinda work if i'm not mistaken,personally i'm using 256gb

Lumia 950 XL still hands down best phone I have ever had. It is a shame there was no support for it.

Anonymous, 07 Feb 2023this didnt aged wellsome people still using w10m, just because it didn't sold well doesn't mean it's an inferior product. the only thing that made me interested in android is emulation, other than that, it's not even a contest between android and w10m. we already experience all those beloved newer/newest android's features pretty much since wp8.1

Sin, 09 Nov 2022Is it possible too custom ROM this smartphone?only windows on arm, that's the only option for custom rom, most people i've seen install windows on arm on the microsd card, so they can dual boot their phone which is pretty cool
