They started their development 5 yrs ago..
Android started it 10 year ago.. So in time Microsoft will bring those features..
W10 is equal to jelly bean version of android..
Pls don't compare w10 with lollipop or marshmallow update ..
Again Symbian is history...
Symbian started the smartphone race way ahead of android phones..but lost the war .. And android became the winner..
Now it's the battle between android,ios,windows

Fortunately Nokia is everything but history and I expect some good phones from Nokia. As I am a Windows Phone user since years I hope Nokia will come with Windows phones or now Windows 10 mobile phones again. And I foresee Nokia being more popular than Microsoft with selling Windows based phones. Maybe Microsoft will entirely focus on a super phone like rumored Surface phone. Let's see what happens.

Microsoft Lumia 950/950XL both have 5376*3744 pixel camera within 1/2.4" sensor size which results 1.071 micrometer pixel size. 1/1.12 micrometer is wrong & Microsoft is lying about it, even it's not a 16:9 sensor that is mentioned in Microsoft's website. It's good that is not a 16:9 sensor. 3:2 sensors are the best. I wonder why Microsoft is lying & giving wrong info about Lumia 950/950XL's camera specs!

But kk for u... moreFrom your response it has been proved that you cannot take offline backup of all the apps individually which creates the setup files in the backup folder. The only way to do offline backup and restore is via PC (pc suite). I am waiting for Microsoft to remove this limitation.
What about the resolution setting in the camera option?.
Stop posting senseless about virus infected apps in google playstore. Even the internet has virus. Only you must use common sense and paid antivirus to safeguard your phone and laptop / PC. There is no point in blaming google playstore for it.
Stil Symbian (only the installed apps in the phone memory) and android have the option to download the setup file of each app. They do provide option to take offline backup of the SMS, phone / app settings into the memory card*.
* means - starting from android 4.4 and 4.4.x, the backup of the installed apps (apk files) can be configured to store only in the phone memory (via 3rd party app). The backed up folder can be moved to the memory card later using the in built default file browsing app. This is because google has blocked all third party apps to store their data directly in the memory card since the android 4.4 and 4.4.x version.
I will not take such large videos greater than 2 GB in 808 and N8. Even if I have to take, I will record a dummy video for 1 minute in 720p and 1080p seperately and check the file size. Then only I will proceed for long duration recording.
I think Nokia will be back this year. Check out the news section of this site.
So 1) offline app and settings backup, 2) camera resolution options, 3) inability to download the setup file for each windows app are the major disadvantages in all windows phones.
Lets see if Microsoft and Nokia comes with a solution for this.

Yes dude the 950/950xl has that usb otg capability.. Also u can connect external hard disk to 950/950xl via usb otg cable.. Pls go and do some research on 950xl in web n watch those videos about 950xl otg support .

Now about app backup.. Android platform can do this bcos it's an open source platform..that means any one who r good in programing can hack this platform.. The benefit is that any app developer can upgrade the os to incorporate their apps.. Bad thing is that. Now a days these android phones r the main target of cybercrimes..and the google app store still has virus infected apps!!!
Android started their development in 2005 ..so they r leading this race..
Apple iPhone os is a closed source platform..in this also u can't do app backup like in android. Similar to windows.. And bcose they do both the software / hardware development their os doesn't more ram or processor like android..
Microsoft started the windows phone platform in 2010..so they were too late in the show.. And its also a closed source platform..u can't c the system files ..like in android..
But u can do app backup in windows if u have select restore data..wen ever u do a reset or update.. But these app backup r saved in those Microsoft accounts.. And not in sd card..
u only complaining about camera only..if u r that much a photographic guy..pls go n buy an iMAX camera.. Again u r 808 is limited to 2gb video recording..too bad...
And dude ..pls.. Again this is not 808 forum..

I am waiting for the resolution limitations to me removed in windows phones.
There are limitations in windows phones of inability to take offline backup of all the installed apps to the memory card. You cannot download the setup file of the apps seperately. These 2 are the major disadvantages in windows phones in addition to the unavailability of resolution options (not one or two) in both the photo and video options under the in built default camera app.
Have heart to accept the failures of windows phones. Microsoft itself said that its smartphne market is not sustainable for growth. Search in google and see. Refresh your knowledge first.
