You see 16 MP camera resolution because default Aspect ratio is set to be 16:9 (camera take much more wider pics than it perform with ratio 4:3). If you want 20 MP camera resolution change the Aspect ratio in the camera setting to 4:3 and you will have it.
Have suddenly a problem sending text-meassges ......is it due to a setting ?? When I try to send one now .....it responds: 'Can not send'
Pengiun, 19 Jan 2017When you last updated your phone? When 10.0.14393.693 came out. Anyway, i let it without battery for an Hour or two... then emptied the battery. Now, feels a bit better.
After last update XL 950 not working as before, occasionally lock, do not know what to do, hope the Staff can fix it soon :(
Anonymous, 17 Jan 2017Sounds a little odd. Latest update gave me more battery life. Is ur OS build at 10.0.14393.693... moreYes, i have the same build. It is Od. Till now never had battery problems... Well, sometimes yes, but that would have lasted just for a charge or so. No, i am at the 3 day. Still very bad. I can?t use it normaly, it will mean this device will be dead till 13 o clock
Pengiun, 18 Jan 2017It's happening to me too after last update... And phone has also started become slower or lagg... moreYeah, well i need network connection. So, nope, not working to do that. The phone is consuming way to much. It has nothing to do with background apps. In standby, their is no problem, the problem comes while using it. Their is eher it consumes. Standyby i do not get more then 3 to 5 percent per hour
Pengiun, 18 Jan 2017It's happening to me too after last update... And phone has also started become slower or lagg... moreHmm, i can't do that. Offline mode does not work for me. Anyway, good to know i am not alone, maybe gets better.... Hopefully.
Carol, 16 Jan 2017Sadly yeah:)). Anyway, the latest update kid of eats my battery. Anyone with the problem? ... moreIt's happening to me too after last update... And phone has also started become slower or laggy... But I think it can be due to allot of apps running in background with new update... Try to use it in offline mode for a day only on wifi. No GPS or Cellular activity !!!

Is ur OS build at 10.0.14393.693? Seems the updates affect each device differently. Since the update I actually go two hours without battery drain with glance screen on. I get to 65% at 6pm during a regular day. Does your phone heat up alot? If so it could be a throttling issue. Check to see what apps are running in the background and close them. I don't leave any apps running in the background.....but just give it a try and see if that affects performance
Mec, 14 Jan 2017Hi, i have a Skype subscription to call to all numbers in my country for free, it's only that ... moreSadly yeah:)).
Anyway, the latest update kid of eats my battery. Anyone with the problem? I had 18 hours on normal use, now 12 are to much...
Hi, i have a Skype subscription to call to all numbers in my country for free, it's only that Skype on Android is not optimal, i do miss some calls and the sound comes sometimes late, wonder how is skype knowing that it's a Microsoft app, is it fully integrated in windows phone?
owner, 10 Jan 20171.My ML 950 xl battery drain too much more faster than it should be. 2.It's getting real hot ... moreFor that overheating to boiling point, heavy battery drain and inability to download anything.......kindly use the software recovery tool provided by Microsoft and reinstall the firmware and OS. Ur phone works better after you do that.
1.My ML 950 xl battery drain too much more faster than it should be.
2.It's getting real hot until i can't hold it by my hand.Need to take out the battery everytime it near half of boilling point.
3.Always reboot and getting crash or it will automatically turn off by itself.
4.Really can't download a latest upgrade for W10 and any game or application.
Windows phone 8 or 8.1 video player sometimes too slow playing and the lack of application what about on windows phone 10?

Glance screen does n... moreYour statement is right on Lumia 950XL and some other phones, I understand how AMOLED screen works. In case of non-AMOLED screen, regardless Windows or Android, it will consume battery energy since it require entire back light on. (on LCD, Black color is producing by liquid crystal blocking light)
Well, there is couple reasons, 1) I don't want to burn screen. look at AMOLED Samsung phone deonstrated/isplayed at Bestbuy, it has burnt image. 2) I love the way glance screen appears when I open the flip cover. 3) it has better protection than back cover only. 4) Japanese loves flip cover.

"Always on" will consumer your battery and light up your entire screen. Glance screen does not activate your entire screen, it only light up the digits.
One way to find out; go to a completely dark room swipe your hand across the top right side of your device, then cover only the digits firmly. You'll notice that the rest of the screen does have any form of light only the digits, the room will remain completely dark.
Android the copycats didn't do a good job with "always on".

With me I keep my location, data, wifi continuously ON throughout. I do not use Bluetooth at all. I recently installed my device firmware from Windows device recovery tool but since it was an old firmware on Microsoft server, my device updated itself to the latest firmware on the air. I will activate "double tap to wakeup" now and also I am suspecting that keeping data and location services always ON may be consuming a lot of battery. I will switch them OFF to see the improvements. With regards to flip cover, I did not know that Lumia 950XL has hall sensor. Could you suggest me some decent flip covers but not too expensive as I recently bought Mozo back case so my hands are little tight.
