Microsoft has announced that it will be retiring the Zune service. Starting November 15, customers will no longer be able to stream or download content from the Zune service.
Existing Zune Music Pass subscribers will be transferred over to the new Groove Music Pass subscription at the next renewal date. Customers can opt for a monthly subscription of $9.99 or a yearly subscription of $99.9. If your Zune subscription is terminated before the subscription period is over, you are eligible for a refund.
Back in October 2011, Microsoft retired the Zune hardware business, turning it into only a streaming service. With the shutting down of the streaming service, the Zune brand has now finally retired in all forms.
