Still too big and low pixel density for tablet use. But Microsoft seems to be getting there. Trim the dimensions/weight, up the solution a notch and with the combination of a good selection of apps we'd finally have a true competitor to the other two.
Many would say that surface pro is already there, but at ~1kg is not trully a tablet, more like a mini laptop and I have seen better mini laptops...
wealthy man, 07 Dec 2013This tablet is far better than the ipad in terms of design and functionality. I have both now ... moreDesign? better than ipad? hmm, this is AWKWARD to use in public with portrait mode, and it's heavy. I would say this is a great replacement for PC's but not Ipad and Android tablets, only if Microsoft learn that 16:9 aspect ratio is not suitable for portrait mode and make the device much lighter will they replace Ipad/Android tablets.
I hope mircosoft can make more application on window store like wechat , clash of clan , real racing , asphalt and more games
After playing around with one of these and already owning ipads and Android tablets. I must say that even in the RT form i was highly impressed. The user experience was great, the device works as required. It is a nice size and allows me to really use the device as I want to. If this was out when I was purchasing the Asus transformer, I would have purchased this instead. This is a great and viable alternative to the ipad and android devices.
This tablet is far better than the ipad in terms of design and functionality. I have both now am thinking of selling off my ipad and keep the surface. The ipad looks ugly design wise
