Microsoft Windows Phone

Last month, Microsoft made the Lumia 540 Dual SIM official, and today the same smartphone got announced for the Indian market.

The Lumia 540 will be priced at INR 10,199, which means about $160 or €141 at the current exchange rates. It will become available for purchase on May 18, which is next Monday.

And starting today, you're able to pre-book one at Microsoft's retail partners in different cities across the country.

The Lumia 540 runs Windows Phone 8.1 with the Lumia Denim update, and it will be upgradeable to Windows 10 Mobile in the future.

The handset comes with a 5-inch 720p touchscreen, an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash, a 5 MP front-facing unit, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of expandable storage, and a 2,200 mAh battery. It's powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chipset with a 1.2 GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU. Mobile network support tops out at 42.2Mbps HSPA.

Thanks for the tip, chimna!
