Xiaomi Android Firmware Updates

Xiaomi introduced the MIUI 10 back in May and many users were happy to see their phones on the big list of supported devices. Shortly after, the company started rolling out the new software version for some of the devices. And as some of you may know that the MIUI comes in four variants - China Stable, China Developer, Global Stable and Global Developer. Of course, the Chinese variants are always released first.

Last week the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE and the Mi Mix 2 were one of the devices to get the Chinese Stable and now six more handsets are receiving the stable ROM:

  • Xiaomi Mi 8
  • Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer
  • Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S
  • Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro
  • Xiaomi Mi Note 2
  • Xiaomi Mi 6X

This could mean that the Global Stable ROM will be arriving pretty soon to the Xiaomi phones outside of China but if you are impatient enough, you can install the unofficial ROMs from Xiaomi.eu that are based on the MIUI China Developer.

Keeps dropping Wifi, lockscreen media controls don't work, lag and random freezes. I hate the multitasking, it should just be carousel instead of imitating a Blackberry.

Huh, how so? More features, lighter RAM usage, faster multitasking, worse? Disclaimer: this is solely on my Mi Note 3, it may be different for other devices.
