Motorola Android

Motorola's Moto E4 is coming to MetroPCS, T-Mobile has announced today. The budget smartphone will become available at the magenta carrier's sub-brand on July 31. This will happen at "participating locations", so you may not immediately find the E4 in all MetroPCS stores.

The handset will be priced at $49 plus tax, after an instant rebate (the full retail amount being $129). However, for a limited time after it launches, if you switch over "a qualifying new number", you'll be able to grab the Moto E4 for $0 plus tax.

The Moto E4 has a 5-inch 720p touchscreen, an 8 MP f/2.2 main camera with LED flash, a 5 MP f/2.2 selfie shooter with a LED flash of its own, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, and a 2,800 mAh battery. It's powered by the MediaTek MT6737 chipset, which has a 1.3 GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU. It runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

I know! It sounds so funny, but I think there's still an instant rebate that brings it to $0 so that's where the tax might come from.

"$0 plus tax." How do you pay taxes of an amount that doesn't exist?
