Last month Motorola introduced its Moto G 5G as its most affordable 5G phone in Europe and now the phone is making its way to India. The Moto G 5G will retail for INR 20,999 ($284) and official sales start on December 7. HDFC bank card owners get an additional INR 1,000 discount.
It comes in the same Frosted Silver and Volcanic Grey colors and is headlined by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 750G chipset which is a first for the Indian market. The 5G SoC is paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage which is expandable via microSD. You get a 6.7-inch FHD+ IPS LCD upfront with a centered punch-hole cutout for the 16MP selfie cam.
There’s a 48MP primary camera around the back alongside an 8MP ultrawide snapper and 2MP macro shooter. The fourth cutout in the camera island is for the LED flash. You also get a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner located inside the Moto dimple.
The battery comes in at 5,000 mAh and does 20W charging. The phone boots Android 10 with Motorola’s My UX on top which will receive and upgrade to Android 11 soon.
Because 5G will be launched next year and most people use a new phone for atleast 2 to 3 years.
