can someone pls tell me how to get some ringtones? i'm stuck! i paid almost 600 for it and the book just leaves me even more confused
I just got this phone, and it's incredibly awesome! I was stressed about dumping so much money on it and not liking it. I was wrong. Built quality is excellent, touch tone lcd for dialing needs some getting used to. Super bright screen with brightness that can be adjusted.
A1200 is only saled in China(including Taiwan and Hongkong). But it has English Language Mode. The other name of it is Ming. In chinese, it means light, bright, clear, open, eyesight and gods, etc.
You can go http://www.motorola.com.cn/a1200/
do anybody know any websites that has software or applications for this cell phone?
to those who have the phone already...say sumthing abt the no-keypad thing
1. Yes, you can use your finger to dial or use voice command.
2.I recommend RED for the girls, BLACK for the Boys.
i just purchased this phone and now i dont get any service when i do get bars my calls fail i had the phone a couple months ago and i lost it but i had an older sim card anyone know if 64k sim cards are having problems with this phone
Hey hows everyone doing? i currently study in america but was born in hong kong. came back to the homeland for vacation and also got my hands on the ming. asides all that, i must say that i have not had anyproblems with battery life(can get by a day or 2 without losing any amount of battery while using it as my primary phone). i have also figured out a way to get my mp3 ringtones as loud as i want. Only thing im dissapointed about the phone is that it has no developed third party software...YET. i had found no problem opening the plastic cover whatsoever. only problem i had was when i got it needed to take away layers of clear plastic protection film-__- but other then that i would reccomend this phone.
Since the phone is being sold exclusively in HK(mybe china?)i feel i need to warn about some of you that decide to buy the phone either from internet or from HK. first off, as some of you may or may not know, in hong kong, it is really easy to buy a phone, unlike in america where you need to sign a contract which is complete bull****. unfortuneately if you are caucasian or any other race that doesnt understand cantonese, you are normally in danger of buying phones in hong kong. In hong kong there are 2 types of phones you can get, Shui foh(imported from china mainly, without warranty and might contain certain defects)and Hong foh(With warranty, tested and tested to make sure no defects). Shui foh can also be called gray area phones or phones without a waranty and is normally cheaper by the Hong foh by a couple hundred Hong kong dollars. Unfortunately if you stumble across hong kong without friend to help you buy phones, you may buy the phone without realising its a Shui Foh. A while back i had a SE K700i(shui foh) it had major defects such as phone turns on and off by itself, ringtone doesnt work etc etc. until myfriend showed me his SE k700i (hong foh) first picking up the phone i realised the differenced of both phones, material, weight and colour. After that incident i have always stuck with hong foh mobile phones which can be purchased in major hong kong telecommunication stores i.e. 3, sunday, one 2 free, csl and so on. If u decide to buy it on the internet(which i dont recommend) then good luck cuz you have no idea which phone is it that your buying. People may get the shui foh in cheap bundles and sell it for more profit, others maybe genuine and ensure they deliver the best. so make sure before you buy it the phone comes with a warranty.
hopefully my little opinion will help people about buying phones that are exclusive in different asian countries(might not only be in hong kong) if it didnt help at all, just ignore it. Finally if your reason to buy a shui foh is cuz it saves you money, go ahead all im gonna say is, It's a Gamble, a friend of mine had a shui foh which he claims works extremely well so who knows.
best regards

HI, just got my a1200 and it is great in style but besides that it sucks. The video quality is horrible, the battery life sucks, and overall its not what you think it is.
But hey thats my opinion, i am returi=ning it back
i got my white a1200 last month in hong kong. the touch screen really attracts attention when u use it :D i've used many phones b4 including nokia, sony ericsson and motorola. e398 is only good for the mp3, n70 bulky but i love the video quality etc.
+ this phone works like a pc, smooth transfer of files from folder 2 folder, picture magnifies when screen is touched and cool radio, 512mb memory card.
- lousy video shots, soft ringing volume when use mp3 as ringtone, speaker at the back so sound muffled when in a casing or pocket, when switched to speaker phone line goes bad.
get this phone if u like something new and dont mind not having a keypad (i miss SMS-ing while driving) LOL!
hi.it is not a good phone.believe me.could any1 give me her msn.i need some help.plzz
thanx a lot 4reading my opinion.
I'm not a big fan of Motorola Phones
(*cough* the razor *cough*)
but the Ming has changed my views on it all together.
I'll agree it can be a little tricky to use but if you dont have the basic knowledge of phones and pda's then dont buy this phone!
This is the best Motorola phone I have ever seen!! I cant wait until it comes in the mail!
