can anyone tell me how to text with the flip closed? please email. thanks.
I've had this phone for about 2weeks now. I'm with tmobile and got the internet working but the phone won't let me send picture messages...Can anyone help?
I have this phone with cingular (blue, AT&T), and I cannot set up the web browser...would any one know how to set it up?
I just got my MING phone from Hong Kong and now trying to use it in US with Cinuglar. It can place & receive calls but I cannot get it to sync with my computer (WinXP) if I live depends on it!!! I've uninstalled/installed numerous times, used bluetooth / data cable and it keeps giving me the message that "Communication port unavailable" and when I look into the "modem exchange" under "view" it looks like it's constantly trying to get a hook up on the modem on the phone & seems like that was what caused the problem. Anyone have any idea how I can solve this? Called Motorola tech support - they're useless, told me that there's no tech support for this phone!! THANKS.
Herm.. anyone??
I am deployed in Iraq, i want to get either the A780 or the A1200. I would like some feedback.. I need good reception, decent voice- loud enough to hear outside, and the pda function for information and contacts, and a camera that takes acceptable images for when i forget my camera.. yes a tough order, but this is a tough place.. and i want to sync to my mac.. windows units dont hold up.
Any input will be appreciated..thanks
The 8mb of memory is really my only gripe as well. I have not filled it up yet, but I created a group in outlook for the contacts I want to put on my phone. Dont need to download the entire 1200 people that is in our shared contact list at work.
Overall it is working fine. I bought it so that I can keep up with important email, have all my office docs and pdf files handy while I am at the factories. I can easily be out all day at the factory without having to haul my laptop around incase I want to look at a spreadsheet or check in on email. For that it works just fine.
8MB of internal memory is to small to hold all my Outlook contacts, Calendar and Task data and there is no possibility to save them on the SD card. For a phone who has the great feature of business card reader (which works!). This phone with 32MB internal memory would definitely be one of the best! Overall I am really disappointed.
I am planning on buying an A1200 while I am in Taiwan.
I am not as understanding of the technology as I want to be, so I ask the following question:
Will developers be able to develop software so that I can use a Bluetooth keyboard to type into notepad?
I was thinking of something simple to use like this for a very long time. The most practical use I can think of is to
take notes during class.
Can anyone let me know?
Thanks,
-Roger

On the home screen, china mobile locks a couple of the shortcuts, so I can only change two of them. The China Mobile and Monternet ones cannot be changed the same way that the other two can be changed. Anyone know a way around the software that would allow me to change these?
Pasha,
It is not true that any tri-band phone will work. If you are saying that the new towers are 850, you may have a problem with an Asian version of some tri-band phones. The Asian versions of tri-band is usually 900/1800/1900, so you do not get the 850 band and may have problems. Definately the quad-band is the way to go if you travel alot like me. Then you get 850/900/1800/1900, which pretty much covers all the GSM bands worldwide.
Okay...call me an idiot, but does anyone know how to increase and decrease the earpiece volume when on a call?
When I answer or place a call the speaker volume is low and I have no idea how to adjust it.
I tried the volume toggle of the left hand side, but that doesnt work.
Please help!
Thanks,
RZS
Thank for all the info about this phone..but now I don't know what to choose!!! I have been using the E68i for about a year and was thinking of getting the A1200(ming) soon but now after reading the postings I don't know if i'm upgrading or downgrading???? The cons i have about the e680i is batt life, weight and size! Comments please!!
Thx in advance!
I have been trying to use the voice-recognition. It says that when you press the button the voice-recognition file will load and then you can begin using it. Every time I do this it says "unable to load due to an exception". Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to get the file to load. Thanks in advance for any help.
never had a camera phone and this one is so cool. what kind of little video formats can i use? i got a 3gp2 and couldnt open it. is ther a program to convert them i can download or do i have to do it on my computer. i have a mac. thanks
To ALL folks ,
Cingular(in USA) uses 1900mhz(old antennas) and 850mhz(most of them and new ones) antenna signals, so therefore(from experience) ANY tri-band phone works with T-Mobile perfectly fine(t-mobile antennas are 1900 mhz frequency) and works not as good but still works with cingular!
therefore, To HAVE a BEST reception of signal you must have Quad-Band phone(for cingular users) and you will be fine if you have tri-band and T-Mobile service!
Hi,
Does anyone have the longman dictionary file?
Also the MSN messenger in Chinese, does anyone know how to make it English?
I really appreciate any help
the link that newbie has posted about the longman does not work anymore.
Well Ive Tried to put A1200 software into an E860i, told me wrong Java Application, ran it again and it worked, so Im guessing any software from previous Linux base, "A" model should work.
Time for me to go, any questions e-mail me.
I got this phone about a week ago. Bought it in Guangzhou China for $400 USD. Came with a bunch of extras; two batteries, 3 chargers, belt clip, handsfree headset, 128MB T-Flash card, USB cable, backpack, purse, cup, external USB speakers. Not sure why they had some of the stuff, but they kept throwing it in. Chose not to get the Bluetooth headset with it for an extra $50, because I already have one.
Haven't set it up for my email, hopefully no problems there. Synced it up to outlook without any problems.
One annoying thing that took me a while to figure out. It has a feature called "Info Services". Couldn't really find much about it, actually nothing about it. It looks like something like SMS messaging, but I think it is more of a broadcast, and you cannot tell where it comes from. Never heard of it, but I would get a spam on it every 5 minutes, all through the night, had to finally turn my phone off. Got very annoying. Called customer service here in China and they had no idea. Finally I found that you can turn it off. You go to the messaging screen from the button on the top of the screen. Then you click on the menu in the lower right, choose Service Setup, and then you can configure the "Info Services".
Anyone know if software written for the A768 will work on this model?
