overlock, 11 Sep 2011how do u overlock DEFY?Step 1: Root your phone, in example by downloading and launching 'Universal Androot'.
Step 2: Install a superuser app, like 'Superuser permission'.
Step 3: With original DEFY, download 'Milestone overclock'. This works for Milestone, FlipOut and DEFY among others using same CPU on stock ROM.
All in all it should be done in about 2-3 minutes.

I am a proud owner of Defy. The XDA folks rooted and found an innovative 2nd-init which can now cause the defy to load any Android ROM optimized for Defy. I am running SM7 stable ROM, gettinh more than 1.5 days of battery with heavy usage and very fluid non crashing android system.

True, the processor has the same frequency, it's true, same RAM, but the Defy+ has 2GB of internal memory, while the Active has 1, from which only about 350MB is accessible to the user. Also, don't tell me, you so desperately need that front-camera or the 720p recording... The Defy+ is also IP67 certified, while as far as I know, the SE isn't.
Dear Motorola Company :
What is the difference between this and Defy ??
i can make my Defy overlocked to 1Ghz and i can upgrade it to 2.3 Android..so this phone is ridiculous.. and no Secondary Cam... WHAT A SHAME !.. lol Motorola , u disappointed me.. :(

defy+ is better than crappy symbian N8 except camera..a real killer
tas1020, 07 Sep 2011Also you are forgeting the Google-Motorola deal ;)Still se active will be a better choice.
Active is better than defy+ coz has bravia engine, hd video rec, front camera, wet finger tracking, xloud technology, barometric pressure sensor ,A.N.T+, pedometer, timescape ui,etc that defy/defy + doesn't have. Gingerbread runs flawless on 3" with 1GHz processor.
All the xperia lineup of 2011(including active) will get 2.3.4 update and then 4.0 update which will include new additional features such as usb on the go,Sony 3D sweep panorama for the camera, even better Facebook integration, Swype-like text input (T9 Trace), integrated screen capture, video chats via Google Talk and more, various NFC options, Xbox Kinect-like feature called Virtual Camera Operator, USB hub support,etc(http://www.gsmarena.com/android_40_ice_cream_sandwich_is_coming_on_all_xperia_2011_phones-news-3106.php)

the xcover is a joke
Can Motorola suport AIR run time. can we run application which was developed in Flash builder 4.5

My only and biggest hope is that battery of this one will last longer, the old one is hardly staying awake about 7 hours if I don't use it too much! :(

samsung xcover is in pre-production mode when gsma test it so it too soon to judge it.
i dont want to comment for active cause i'm very disapointed with my last SE android phone, SE have same problem with moto, locked bootloader.
it is really funny watching how samsung and HTC grow their famous on android land with unlocked bootloader while the strict manufactures like moto and SE still suffered financial lost.
so when SE learn this with their new bootloader policy, moto still close their eyes and ignore their customers.
locked bootloader = no buy
