@Greatings from BG:
Defy comes pre-loaded with QuickOffice. You can also upgrade to a paid version with edit feature. interesting think is this qucik office can read not only word/excel/powerpoint but also pdfs.
I work as part of a telecommunications team in Australia where we sell these phones. Just this week we have had 6 of these come back faulty. All with same issues of speaker/ear piece crackleing and the battery not charging. Also having problems answering calls when the screen is locked. People wanting a smart phone, the most repliable I have seen running Android is the HTC Desire.
video testing drop test and music and phone answered underwater
after seriously considering buying a DEFY, there is one question - can we put/install a PDF-reader and Office-editor (except Doc-viewer) on the device? Pls. anyone of the owners give an answer!

Falak Zaib, 07 Jan 2011im very much interested in buying a smart phone my main priorities for a smart phone are Music... moreI don't think there is a smartphone these days that does not fit this description. The Defy fits it. I'm pleased with the battery life, and for the music, browsing, applications and etc. I don't think there's any difference with the other Android phones. Still the sound quality is very good. But what the Defy has that the other phones don't is durability - gorila glass display, tight rubberized body, water resistant (I've not put it underwater but I've put it under the tap water and it has no problems) and dustproof.
im very much interested in buying a smart phone my main priorities for a smart phone are Music, browsing and social networking & Tons of available applications and good battery timing.... Just to make sure that Motorola DEFY is the right choice... What would u (all) suggest...??? i would like ur opinion to be as Neutral Person's.. Thank u

s, 05 Jan 2011I do Not understand this : According to Motorola, battery will last for app 10 days, but almos... moreThe battery quotes given are on the assumption that you are in a 5 bar signal area, dont touch the phone at all, dont make a call, dont text - or breathe anywhere near the phone.
24 hours standby is about average for most smartphones if you are constantly tweeting, surfing, texting, listening to music etc.
Had two of these phones from Tmobile UK they are laden with unreliable software. Both have been in a reboot loop while on charge, drop signal. Constantly reboot when in use, frozen screens. AVOID!!! Going back to Blackberry!!
Standby time means you turn on the phone and leave it - no touching, no talking - nothing. It can last many days this way ;) but nobody buys a phone and leaves it unusable. Battery is very good - usually I charge it everyday or once every two days cause I use it a lot - wireless is on, internet browsing, youtube, mmorpg playing and etc. which should use up a lot of battery :) so far the longest it lasted was almost 4 days and I still used it regulary, but not that much.
I do Not understand this : According to Motorola, battery will last for app 10 days, but almost all users agree for about 1 (one) day ?!?!?!
