Just got this phone yesterday.Really impressive! It's worth every cent.

Now I have been hearing things about the 95R firmware and I wanna get it.Between going to the service center and getting them to do it for me,or doing it myself, which one is better?I guess the obvious choice is going to the service center.

Now if someboday could tell me where or how to get some games for this phone here in .au that Optus has access to, i will be forever in debt to you. any advice, please email me at radiobirdman@gmail.com

oh one other hint thats useful for this phone (and others), when you go to sites like MyMoto and play the sample of the MP3 realtones atc, instead of paying $$ for them, just go fish the file out of your Temporary Internet Files/Opera cache/wherever on your computer, then rename the file and upload with MPT. i did this with a System of a Down tone just for kicks and it worked a treat! FREE!!

for those having trouble with MP3s and Mobile Phone Tools...
you need to remove the transflash card when using MPT so it's really only good for uploading small MP3 files to use as ringtones etc that fit in the phone's 5MB memory.
for uploading MP3s to the TransFlash card, i recommend getting an SD card reader and using that to up the MP3s to the card. this is very fast (less than 1 minute to fill 64MB of MP3s), you don't have the 3MB limit, white-space is allowed (the fileneames can be whatever format you want, but keep them short) and if you know what your doing the whole exercise of removing phone from your case, removing battery + TF card, loading MP3s with your new SD card reader and putting back together can be done in

          To smooth (about the beep).
It was weird because the phone was in stand-by: I was not using it. It was not the minute-reminder. Thanks. I will investigate :-)

To gennaro-what software version do you have anyway? And about the lights, click menu, go to settings-->personalise-->rhythm lights-->select pattern and time you want it on, and watch the phone react to the sounds around you. what profile were you on? And about the Outbox, I don't think so.

To canderous-if you want the best mp3 playing capability on phones available today, get this one. If you need the flexibility of Symbian, get the SX1, but you'll have to get used to that keypad. And Interpolation doesn't work, it's just there to make the phone look good on paper. 128mb is currently the largest available, with 256mb coming very soon.

To Chacha wanda-this is much better than the C650...that's just an entry0level model, this one isn't. The camera on this one os much clearer and has much better color reproduction.

To Nick-get the FM radio headset, it's really cheap anyway.

To Taj-use the USB cable and the MPT software.

            To Current-yes, it's got a USB cable.

To ask-I had the same thing, try removing everything in the audio folder. that should work...

to taj: the best way is to drag-drop mp3 files using a card reader or, if you are brave enough, use the MPT to drag-drop mp3 files.

to gennaro: the side light usually activate when you recieve a phone call or a message alert, in this case called event lights but turns on only for a few seconds. I guess to conserve energy. The beep was probably a message reminder, which activates every few minutes or so.

                            Other question.

Is there a SIMPLE way to read the receiver of a message when you are in 'sent messages' folder? The only way I have found consists in pressing MENU, then STATUS. Too long and complex.

Some questions. The user manual of the E398 is the worst ever read. I am discovering a lot (too many) new features by using it.

                              Few questions:
                              - side lights. How do you use them? I have only been able to change their scheme according to the number calling me. Is there any way I can have them ON for a few minutes when a message arrives or when I miss a call?

                              - msg alert. Yesterday night (morning of today) I got a message. Since I was awake I was able to hear the alert: it was a simple beep even if, normally, it is not a beep (austin powers talking, actually). Is the phone changing the msg alert in the night according to the current time or to the time it has been in power-save mode?

                              Thank you in advance.

Yeah all phones need a good 12 hour charge for there first charge for good conditioning of the battery and mine got more then that but if yours can take upto 5-6 hours then maybe mine doesnt have an issue.

I'm still trying to figuer out why I can only get about 20 sms's on the phone at one time. how many do other ppl get?
cause i know my sim card can hold heaps more then that.

from my point of view, phone cameras arent an option for takin pictures. They r just for fun and to catch some funny moments with friends. Interpolate resolution keeps the same number of pixels, but enlarges them, so the quality goes down.
i got moto E398 for the mp3 player feature, good screen and haptic lights thingy.
SX1 is nice cause of its series 60 capability.
i dont think the camera is worth talkin about in either case.
