Under style it has the profile you have chosen eg. loud, vibe & ring ect. Select this scroll down to text msgs: and select it. Then choose the sound you would like.
many thanks. it worked.
Hey ^_^x , how did you come up with settings-->Ring Styles-->select profile-->text msgs? Because i don't have profile opton after ring styles and what have is only style, ring lights and event lights with 95R by default (no changes made with ringstyle menu, no seem editing or anything else) or are we talking about some other phone? :D
To the one signing ^_^x
I do care. I have too many things to do during my working time that prevent me from constantly recall to switch profile. Increasing volume plus vibrating alert always on minimize the number of profile switches. That's why almost every phone provide those options.
To Pirinfolk-Menu-->settings-->Ring Styles-->select profile-->text msgs-->pick your ringtone
Despite sluggish operation with a ISP customized 95R S/W, I upgraded it to 96R through motoservice....now the HP operates smoothly!!!
The few complains are the somewat sluggish control when SMSing and playing MP3s at the same time. And also the weak battery endurance. Otherwise, this phone kicks ass.
Anyone know the exact memory size of the messages? I got a "memory almost full" at 65 inbox and 65 outbox. anyway to increase the size?
I'm correcting my latest comment with this one "unfortunately there is a limit n it doesnt depend on how much MB you have for some reason when it approaches 100 to 130(depending on the size of your msgs) the limit has been reached regardless of how much free space you have on your phone's internal memory". Thx.
Anyone knows where I can check what's the latest firmware?Thanks!
gennaro there is 2 quick ways to put your phone on silent the 1st is just turn the volume down (with keys located at the top left side of phone). This will go like this 6,5,4,3,2,1,vibrate,silent. the 2nd way is to make a short cut (on my phone it is right on joystick) which will take you straight to ring styles. Then you just hit enter and select silent.
May be I'm too dumb to use this too cool phone but I have a simple question: how can I change the tone of an incoming SMS? Actually it is a very long melody and I can't even disable it (the option "Menu>Messages" end then "Menu>Message Setup>SMS Alert:Off" does not seem to work)
Thanks in advance.
plz dun compare Moto or SE fone wif Nokia coz Nokia sux!!!
Nice E398 community... :)
How do you guys find out what's the latest firmware version?Is it posted on a website?Links please :D
judge i challenge you , you send me photograph clicked by a k700 or a nokia 6600 and i will provide a better photo quality
hey maical great to see you y r back
To @>@-You can't use the transflash card...you'll be limited to phone memory.
To Judge-are you stupid or are you blind? There is no way the displays on the 6600 and the K700i are better than the one on this phone! Get Real!
To Unknown-actually, yes, the E398 is more reliable than the K700i...that phone has a lot of bugs!
- no increasing volume ringing alert;-->who cares?
- no vibration WITH ringing tone. Only vibration and then ringing tone.-->there's a way to solve this...I think...and again, who cares?
- no auto-blocking of the keys.-->many people are not that stupid to forget locking the keypads of their phones.
- no easy and fast way to switch between silent mode and normal mode.-->do you know how to use the phone at all? Because really, there is a way to do this with a couple of movements of the joystick.
And there is still no firmware specifically for this phone that records video. The one available is from the V620.
this is a phone i work for vodacom and i like this.nokia no samsung yes motorola hell ye
i am david hamsley by name nd i came across the phone and i am interested in buyingand i want to pay through credit card so i want you to get bck to me asap ok
With my firmware version you CANNOT record video. I don't know if successive firmwares allow the recording.
For how long can you video record with this fone? thanx
This phone is great but lacks some basic features:
- no increasing volume ringing alert;
- no vibration WITH ringing tone. Only vibration and then ringing tone.
- no auto-blocking of the keys.
- no easy and fast way to switch between silent mode and normal mode.
From my point of view a phone lacking such features cannot be considered a great phone, even if it has all the other features.
