To unknown-that's a problem other brands (Moto and SE included) have because of Nokia...people have become too used to Nokia's UI so it takes them a while to adjust...And Nokia's UI has become so boring!

To Aris-I see...I'll try ti get mine upgraded when I get the time...anyway, flexing means editing something in the softwarelike the language pack and some other stuff, and I do believe there is a flex somewhere that enables storing of SMS in the phone.

To Jack-You're gonna need a program called P2kman to delete the pre-installed files on the phone.

To Dia-yes, there is a way to make the phone capture videos but it is at the expense of the transflash card.

To Alexhee-try www.howardforums.com for the newest version...and it's actually a flash, not a flex. ^_^x

To Motofan-It's probably because the E398 has a lot more stuff in it.

To Rafael-Firmware is another term for software. When you flash your phone, you actually change the software version most of the time it's an upgrade. And you can't compare this phone with the 3660 as that is a smart phone, this is a multimedia phone. If you want the best multimedia features available in a phone right now, get this. If you want the flexibility of the Symbian OS, get the 3660...it all depends on what you prefer, actually. Price is Php 19000+ in all authorized dealers...you can get it for 14000 if you get the low Globe plans, or free in the higher Globe plans. And forgive the grammar, most of the people who post here are not natural English speakers.

To Bill-you mean the Java mp3 player? Try to use the phone's built-in one.

To Alex-why is that? you experienced any major problems with it?

To Diane-As I said earlier, get the P2kman software and use it to delete said files. For more instructions, go to www.howardforums.com. And the addresses of the Moto service centers in Libis and in Buendia are printed in the warranty card included in the package.

To Motofan-as I said earlier, firmware is just the software.

To Alexhee-try searching www.howardforums.com...see if anybody in there's got the 97R already...I do hope it enab;es video recording...hehe!

^_^x

Saw in some forums stated 97R firmware can enable video capture function in E398. Cool. However some said can't. So who have 97R firmware on their phone can let me know? Thanks.
Basically, I just flashed my E398 to 95R. Menu & msg respond much faster than before.

rafael: i bought my e398 at P19000 @ the hub sa greenbelt. if you'll gonna buy at digital exchange (located in glorietta), it's much expensive by 900 pesos, but you get to have an openline unit and free downloads.

I just upgraded my E398's firmware to 96R few days back but I didn't notice any difference with the new firmware. If the 97R is available, I'll probably send my phone down to the service centre within the next few days. I noticed some uncleanable specks of dust caught in between the LCD screen after I collected it back from servicing. Quite upset. Hopefully, they'll clean it away for me the next time I send it down to upgrade the firmware. Noticed that E398 is quite laggy compared to my other Motorola V220. Wonder why. Isn't E398 suppose to be better than the V220?

To ^_^x: im not sure if it is available in libis, i got the SW upgrade 96r from the buendia branch.but since they are both authorized service centers of moto, it is most likely that it is also available there. reading thru the threads...y is it that there are no options to save messages on the phone, only in sim.when my inbox is around 32 msgs, it becomes full, quite a downside for moto. any idea what is a flex? as posted by someone, with 97r and some adjustment to flex, he was able to store many SMSs on phone. this would be a great improvement...

To francesco-For the skins and for the instructions on how to install them, search through www.howardforums.com. ^_^x

To Aris-Yup, I'm from Manila. So 96R is already available in Libis?

To Steven-you can probably get a screen protector in cellphone/PDA shops, but I don't think there's one that will fit the E398 perfectly, you just have to cut it a bit.

To Simakas-actually, I have seen more bugs in a phone's SW, in one of my old Nokias...hehe...anyway, yup, most of the bugs are fixed in the latest version of the firmware...and my phone does wake up on events. And I haven't experienced the glitch with the data timer. And the 1-digit shortcuts respond slower when you have more than 10 shortcuts because it uses the time delay to wait for you to enter the second digit of your double-digit shortcuts. ^_^x

To Cruel-software upgrade is available for free (if you bought your phone from authorized dealers) at the SmartNet Service Center in Libis, and they probably also offer the upgrade at the Buendia service center.

To Klau-while browsing, click the menu button, select the Type URL option, and type the URL of the site you want to visit.
