-you cannot take videos with this phone
-sound quality is better than some stand-alone mp3 players
-this has almost all the features of the 6600 except video record and the ability to have programs installed on it as this one does not run on symbian
-yes, the screen is much better than that on the Sony Ericsson T630.
-look through this forum or through other forums...its been posted before how to transfer mp3s onto your phone.
Good day peeps. As of the moment I own a nokia 6600 and it really suits me well. But im not convinced with its sound quality since its not stereo surround and mp3 files doesnt sound that convincing. I'm planning to buy another unit and one of my top picks will be the e398. Aside from the surround sound it offers, you think it can cope up with the features im now enjoying with the 6600? Thanks
maestro, the mp3 player has awesome sound quality through earphones and the phone as it has 4 built in vibrating speakers.
i am in USA with T- Mobile. Can anyone help me. I cannot send and receive pictures using e 398. I als canot download wallpaper and ringtones from t-moile's T-zones.I called T-mobile but there are not able to help me also....they said that it is not t-mobile supported phone...is there any settings on the phone that i need to change?
i have a nokia 3660 and thinking of changing it with either a e398 or k700.
i don't have a problem with 3660 except that :
1. the image taken from the phone is not very good and e398 has flash to overcome that.
2. the video recording quality is very poor and very small. i have heard of softwares that can increase the limit of video recording but are they the proper solution.
3. the phone seems to just hang sometimes and switching off and on helps.
4. is it advisable to put third party softwares in the phone at about INR 1200/- which increase its functionality to play mp3 etc.
Hey.. i'm thinking of buying this phone, but i'm mostly interested in using it as an MP3 player.. How would you guys compare the sound quality with an normal MP3 player?
ok, sorry to bother but back to the video topic again... =( it seems that my phone is only able to play 3gp format videos. when i transfer mpeg4 videos, my phone indicates that the file is corrupted and asks to delete it when i try to play it.. is it normal? for avi on the other hand opens with media player i think (the media player icon is there in my com eventhough i changed it to quicktime)therefore my phone doesn't detect it... any clue ppl? is it normal?
to arc: i assume that u have already installed the motorola modem drivers (as maical said). but that did happen to me after i installed it, so wat i did was uninstalled it and then installed it again.. i think it jst had some technical screw ups. maybe trying it will help??
there's a con i discover 2day; it's the bluetooth.
e398 blue tooth can b enable to trf file to others but not 2 search.
i try it wt k700 n the k700 BT is more powerful it's not just able to receive it can also search into your folder n retrieve watever they want w/o u sending it 2 them.
tat's is a big flaw fr motorola BT
I do hate the design of Motorola's products but E398 is extremely beautiful! In fact it's one of the prettiest things I've ever seen! I'm talking about the Black Eyed Peas version, of course! The mix of black and silver looks wounderful! Hear me every one, lets pray to the designer! Finally...
It is also very easy in use and that's because of its interface, which is very well organised. Even the great variety of functions doesn't cause any problems. I had many phones and belive me, it's one of the most user-friendly ones.
Unfortunately there are some faults. You'll find the biggest one while trying to write an sms. There is no information about its size, I mean, you can't be sure if you're in the first, second or third one, so you don't really know how much do you pay. I know that it's shawn how many letters can you use but I would be so much happier knowing in which of the smses am I and how many smses am I sending. You know, It's all about the money, though I'm not interested in counting the leters!
Another fault, or I should say a wish, is its video player. Thats's because it needs the MP4 files(!), so you are no able to watch your AVI or MPEG files! Too bad... Next time?
As you can see, Motorola did a few small mistakes. But after all, it is a great phone which gives you many interesting options, just like the MP3 Player (Flash Memory - 64MB or 128MB) and the camera (4xZoom). And I am very very pleased with it!!!
to use mobile phone tools, u have to install motorola modem drivers, it make sence if u come to think of it
to use PST u have to remove the memory card and install modem drivers from pst directory.
goofy, just listen to mp3 from sounds, dont use the java app for mp3 cause it sometimes doesnt recognize mp3's when u dont put them on the phone with 1 of the motorola programs
