hey! this is an awesome phone!! Excellent audio quality with stereo speakers! And sounds great with the provided earphones/handsfree! the only draw back is the phones slow reaction...i mean the user interface...though the camera is VGA, it has excellent clarity....and crisp n sharp 65k display..best part is the phone's ability of producin "bass" while playin audio and also the natural sound heard through the speakers unlike the ericssons and the nokias havin too much sharpness but less bass. E398>AUDIO ADRENALINE!!!

I don't recommend you all to buy this phone. This E398 released in year 2004 and can be considered as old model now. It is still not stable, it has a lot of problems, slow processing speed, software not stable, the center 5-way joystick sometimes out of control, got problems when playing mp3 from memory card and etc. If you are looking for budget motorola camera phone, choose L6. If you want memory expansion and slightly better display quality, then spend more money to get L7.

hi. ive beenn using this phone for 4 month. it is great. got little problem but i can handle it. do you know that when you compressed the song file using the motorola software and you actually could fitted 30 mp3 song on a 64 mb memory card

Hi, does anyone of you face before when playing mp3 songs from transflash memory card on E398, it always shows error message like "system error", "file corrupted" when playing the mp3 half way. I've to shut down and restart the phone to play the song again. I face this problem very frequent. No problem were found if I play the mp3 in phone memory. What should I do? Please help. Thanks.

I'm loving this phone, even after 3 months! After hacking it and adding all features from the e1 rokr its the best phone ever! Loud music through iTunes, airplane mode, photo/video camera pwns all! Dont even hesitate, it might not look good on pictures but when u hold it in your hand it looks and feels awsome. Once again, get this phone today!

NEED HELP!!!!!!
My 398's LCD is broken... I just got a new cell and I want to take out all my images and ringtones from the 398.
Since I can't see the menu, can anyone tell me what steps to follow to turn the BlueTooth on?? Like "press Menu-8-*-*-*" etc (I know 8 will take me to the settings, but I want to go into the Conection and then BT adn then turn it on...)
After that, I can get inside the phone (using my K750) and save all I want to onmy new cell...

I face the problem of 'SYSTEM ERROR'when it is playing mp3, moreover if transflash spaces occoupied more than 40 mb,then i can just copy compressed mp3 about 16 songs (each 2 mb). this annoying me ! anybody there have same problem, what should i do?

Hi guys, need your help. Have E398 and after charging the new battery for a good few hours, it does not allow me to either send sms or make/receive calls. So I switched off the phone and turned it on after an hour. Then the battery icon shows red instead of charged battery. I have tried several times, it is still the same. When charging battery it shows the juice bar. When off the phone and turn it on, the battery juice bar becomes red - flat! Do you all know why it is like that? Thanks alot!

Hey Guys, how are you all doing?, It's been alongtime, Do you know that all phones can be upgraded? Yes it can, I upgrade Samsung and Nokia Phones also, but to tell you the truth Motorola Phones are easier to mood, especially the e398, but the nicest thing of all are the programmes, there are programmes to make your own skin, to delete and add menu icons to your phone, start up and shutdown animation, trust me there's alot. My advise to you all is to buy a cheap phone like the e398 and upgrade it to the dearer ones, like the e398 to Rokr or even Rokr 2, I only have 2 problems, I know how to deal with one but I don't know how to edit it again, I want to change my rhythm lights and so on, I need to edit it or if where I could get any, it is called Funlights, or something like that, my next problem is the Motorola Splash Screen, it is the first one that I see when I turn on the phone, I'm not talking about the Start up animation.
