hi guys!i bought this phone @ the price of RM720!!n traded-in my old nokia for RM100....n i really like this phone!!it's cool.....but then i wonder what kinda video i can download?anyone knows?n how big can the size be?can a ".rm" video be played with e398?

Hi, For some reason, when I get SMS from one person, my phone has no allerts. I have tried deleted that person from my phone book, changing that person's contact on the phone, putting that person in a group, out of a group...etc....It still won't have any sound/vibration. I don't know why, because the phone works fine if other people SMS me. Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks!

Had the E398 for about 1 month.The navigation speed in slow,has problems with the cable (you need to have a certain position ),the sound is not so loud, even if you enhance the MP3 volume with software programs,and sometimes the speakers can't handle the bass for MP3's ,even it is lowered (I used Nero Wave Editor).The battery keeps about 3 days.And the vibration is soft.

Hey ethan22,
go to settings -> ring styles -> Loud detail under that u will find "Txt messgs" and there u can select any tone for sms messages.

E398 accepts TransFlash cards which can be read with an SD card reader.

What should I chose a Motorola E398 or a Sony Ericsson k508i?I think I´ll go 4 the e398,because it has a card slot and its much cool then the k508 because it haves 3D stereo speakers and its only 100$here in Romania.

mannnnn this set simply rocks.rhythm lights are sooo coool when u listen muzic in car or in com speaker just turn on the rhythm lights it will groove with you like visualization in com media player kooool isnt

anyone knows how to change the sms alert tone for e398? that's the only thing i wanna know about this phone now, other than that, it's near perfect.

AAAAAAAAAH!
Its seems that Motorola will launch a new cell called E790, that has the same shape, format, from E398, but with iTUNES! wow!
But is this worth? cause iTunes dont use MP3....
And there is a new pack for E398 that have iTUNES... its called i398, u dont have to wait for E790

hey...i bet you all envy Romanian customers of e 398 ...you shouldnt!!! the phone costs 100 $ , but the company that sells this phone has a trick for all those naive customers: they sell the phone without the Memory card, usb cable, headphone and without any software !!! when you buy these separately and add it to the 100$ cost you will find out that tha phone costs upt to 200 $!!!!!!

k508i? No
E398 has the same features with more memory..
Also k508i only has 12mb of shared memory and no card slot....E398 has up to 256mb (maybe 512mb).
And u can make the E398 a "real" MP3 player, and video player, something that k508i wont be

I'm sorry 4 u bird90.I live in a 3rd world country(Romania)and the e398 costs only 100USD.Good thing I don't live in Brazil!
Do you think a k508i is better?I can't decide which one to buy!

VIDEO RECORDING / CAPTURE now possible with E398. go to howard forums. Its now called i398 after flash flex with E790. also got itunes. be wary though, if inexperienced , could kill you phone.

I had a razor before, in comparison by far the e398 is way better in general... so far so good... my suggestion, get this phone...

This is one of the coolest phone made by Motorola,in specialy that stereo mp3.Keep up the good work Motorola!
