i'm having problem with E398..... i could transfer video to phone... but when i check. it's not in there.... i transferred to the video folder.... mpeg and .wmv i tried.. can't see it.... help pls
to DK: you can transfer mp3's to your phone memory either from the computer or from your tflash, but that is if you erase all stored ringtones and pictures from the phone memory since the shared memory is only 4mb, you can store only 1 song. Another way is to use the MPT to edit the song so it is short enough to use as a tone.
What about creating folders like for Mp3's or Misc. folders ? just folders in general on the phone or the card ... is this possible ?
You can copy MP3 from pc to phone. You can also transfer MP3 from trans to phone. It is true onl mp3's on phone can be used as tones. To move from Tflash to phone click on move> phone.
They will be the same after firemware upgrade. only dif is the cover colour.
This phone doesn't come standard with video record only play back (unless flash to v620 firmware). I suggest you get a easyer phone to use as you couldn't work out that there is a search field that would have answered this question. It also doesnt list video in camera features in the specs page for this phone.
When you have the phones USB function set to memory card and pluged into the computer via USB cable it will show up in My Computer as removable disk (next to floppy drive, cd drives). Not the mobile phone tools folder.
You can make albums (same thing as folders)to store photos in. This is the best phone for price going around by far.
Is the romoveable drive the mobile phone tools folder? How do i get the romoveable drive in my computer?
Does anyone know where I can get a discounted Motorola E398? The cheapest I have found is around $215.

Hi i want to ask something:
Can i transfer mp3's directly to the phone or can i copy from the T-Flash to my phone memory(i ask that coz i heard that i can use only mp3 stored on the phone memory for ringtones)
to put mp3 on the phone go to settings>conections>usb> memory card. then use my computer to access the romoveable drive (this is your phone). then simply open the audio folder and past or drag and drop in the mp3 file(s) you want on your phone.
to everyone please use the search function if you have a question as just about all questions asked have been answered over 5 times. search field is located right below the post your opinion button
so to put music into the phone do i have install mobile phone tools, then connect the phone to my computer with the USB, then locate the mobile phone tools in my computer and then just drag the MP3 files into the mobile phone tools folder with the phone connected to the PC with the USB. Is that all. do i have to do anything else? please help.
ive only had the fone for a few days and as of yet i havent had any problems with data transfer. if you want to upload mp3s then use the motomixer software and simply drag and drop into the mobile phone. (i also recomend that you reduce the quality of your mp3s to something like 64kbps to make the most out of ur space, but nothing lower so as not to kill of quality)
if you want to you could also hook up the usb to ur pc and just drag and drop pictures, mp3s or videos easy peasy
i have also been able to transfer files onto the transflash card via the SD adaptor so you shouldnt have problems there
Finally in terms of your address book, i recomend that you just scroll down and delete the enteries u dont want :p
hope this helps
