Motorola Edge (2023) render leaks, shows a familiar design

Motorola Android Rumors

The Motorola Edge 40 was announced back in May. This was followed by a launch in Europe, then a launch in India later that same month. But the phone never made its way to North America, while the Edge+ (2023) has been around since May.

Renders of a “Motorola Edge (2023)” have now surfaced on the web, acquired by PriceBaba. This could be the NA version of the Edge 40 or it might be a completely separate model – that was the case with the Edge (2022).

The renders seem similar enough to the Edge 40, however – the curved edges of the screen, the camera island, the lens and LED flash positioning, the whole thing. And if you look closely enough, you can just about make out the “50MP” label on the main camera, again matching the Edge 40.

If the Edge (2023) is indeed a rebranded Edge 40, then the phone will be equipped with a 6.55” 144Hz OLED display (FHD+, HDR+), a Dimensity 8020 chipset and a 4,400mAh battery with 68W wired and 15W wireless charging. The body will feature a vegan leather back and an IP68 dust and water resistance rating.

The Edge (2022) launched at $500 last year, but again that was different hardware from the Euro Edge phones. The Edge+ (2023), which is identical to the European Edge 40 Pro, has an MSRP of $800 (but is now down to $700). That’s a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phone, however, so the price gap is to be expected.

You are 100% correct! I only got the edge +2022 due to its flat screen.

Normally the regular Edge phone has a flat screen. I don't know why they keep trying to push curved screens. They offer no value

you mean the same design under different name in other regions? BBK just did on their rebranding by using model name.
