Motorola Android Announcement

The goal of Motorola’s Moto G line has always been to offer the best possible specs at an affordable price point. We’ve come accustomed to solid midrange offerings over the years but now we get a more exciting addition - enter the Moto G100. Actually, we’ve seen this phone before – it’s the Motorola Edge S released in China just two months ago.

With its 6.7-inch IPS LCD and 90Hz refresh rate the Moto G100 brings a spacious and smooth viewing experience. The panel has FHD+ resolution and is also HDR10 certified. You get not one but two selfie cameras with a 16MP main unit and an 8MP ultrawide module that helps you fit more of your friends in the shot.

The other key selling point of the G100 lies underneath the hood where we find the Snapdragon 870 chipset. This by far the most capable chip to date on a Moto G phone and should bring flagship-grade performance. There’s 8GB RAM and 128GB storage which is further expandable via the microSD slot.

Around the back, the Moto G100 packs a 64MP primary camera with f/1.7 aperture and 1/2" sensor (0.7μm pixel size). It’s joined by a 16MP ultrawide sensor with a ring LED flash which also doubles as a macro cam for some interesting close-up shots. The remaining modules are a 2MP fixed focus depth helper and a ToF module for fast laser autofocus.

The software front is covered by Motorola’s stock-looking My UX which sits atop Android 11. A neat new addition is the “Ready For” platform which brings a desktop-like interface once connected to an external monitor or TV. Motorola is also bringing a docking station that helps keep your phone charged and connected while also boasting a built-in cooling fan to keep thermals in check.

Rounding off the spec sheet is a 5,000 mAh battery with 20W fast charging, a 3.5 headphone jack and NFC connectivity. The phone also boasts a water-repellant coating though no official IP rating.

The Moto G100 comes in Iridescent Sky, Iridescent Ocean and Slate Grey colors. Pricing is set at €499.99/£449.99. It will be available in European and select Latin American markets starting today.

This news is of March and it hasn’t yet been launched in India. Which means it is dead for Indians. Indians care a lot about processor generations. Indian users also compare launch date of Motorola’s home country launch date and India launch date.

Lol please, I'd rather buy this instead of an overrated Poco phone.
