Motorola launches Moto G84 with a Snapdragon 695, costs under $250

Motorola teased the Moto G84 on Flipkart last week, and today it officially launched the midranger in India. The smartphone comes with a somewhat old Snapdragon 695 chipset with 5G support, but it still looks like a great package for its price point.

Upfront is a 6.55" 10-bit OLED display with 120 Hz refresh rate and 240 Hz touch sampling rate. Motorola promises peak brightness of 1,300 nits. There is a single punch hole in the center for the selfie camera - a 16 MP shooter with an f/2.45 aperture.

There are two more cameras on the back instead of the three on the Moto G82. The main one has a 50 MP 1/1.5” sensor with 1.0µm pixel size and f/1.88 lens. It comes with Dual PDAF and OIS. Next to it is an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle cam with 118 degrees FoV, but no AF.

Both cams support 4K video at 30 fps and bring Auto Night Vision for better photos in a dark environment.

The Moto G84 has Dolby Atmos support and Moto Spatial Sound, which should sound lovely through the stereo speakers.

The Moto G84 ships with Android 13, and the company promised it will get Android 14 and 3 years of security updates.

The 5,000 mAh battery inside the Moto G84 supports 30W fast charging, with Motorola providing the adapter in the retail box. Other highlights include Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, a 3.5 mm audio jack, and a dual SIM slot for two nano cards.

Motorola is continuing its partnership with Pantone and launched the phone in a lovely Viva Magenta color, which is a faux leather panel. There’s also a Marshmallow Blue color option, which is also vegan leather (in reality, it is fancy PVC coating), and fans of plainer design can pick the Midnight Blue variant.

There is only one memory option for the Moto G84 with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. It costs INR19,999 ($245/€222) and starts on September 8 at Flipkart.
