Well, the phone is definitely basic, but let's say that at least it cost only about €150 (based on the GSMArena specs sheet/list) so...
Rbinu, 11 Jul 2017What's wrong with mtk chipset? They're slow, they violate GPL (open source) license, they release kernel sources for phones but the source tends to be incomplete or not hard to build which make it hard to develop for or root the phone. The general consensus is if you buy a MediaTek phone, don't hope too much for custom rom. I no longer root or flash rom, but I think other people should have the freedom to. Also MediaTek performance is not very good.
geri, 10 Jul 2017again without notification led...?Coz it have Moto display
How do you compare speed between 2 cellphones? Is there a benchmark study?
When I speed , I mean the application speeds like when you touch to an icon I want it to respond as fast as it can
Akshay jain, 02 Jul 2017Im a moto fan.....i have bought e4 yesterday....it looks great at this price...camera okay...b... moreBro where did u buy it ! Idnt know wr it's available .tell me if u are in..
Im a moto fan.....i have bought e4 yesterday....it looks great at this price...camera okay...but there is no gyroscope sensor so no chop to light...and there is no speed charging....over all its a good phone...
I believe this is a very good bang for the buck smartphone. Let's face it, nobody who's looking for a flagship will buy this phone. The USA version has a Snapdragon 425 (or 427 I see listed on Phone Arena) which isn't going to break any speed records, but it's a budget phone.
By the way, it's only $99 on Amazon.com for the factory Unlocked version with lockscreen ads if you are a paid Prime member. Can't get much for $99 today... Don't buy the Verizon version if you want to take it abroad, as it's locked and doesn't have that many options as the Unlocked version does.
I'd still take a SD or a MT processor, personally. To each their own, I believe the USA unlocked version will sell like hotcakes, even at $129 for the regular unlocked E4 without the added adware.
Anonymous, 25 Jun 2017Lenovo has ruined Moto E by using Mediatek processors. And this is the second time so I don't ... moreyeah.... snapdragon is a best suite for motos electron blood.... Google sold moto to lenovo is the great mistake they done..... Missing that old Motorola. a google company
There's nothing wrong with mediatek cpus. There is no noticeable difference between its snapdragon counterpart in real world usage.
But android authority says it's having sd 425 so will it be launching with mediatek in countries other than US
Lenovo has ruined Moto E by using Mediatek processors. And this is the second time so I don't expect that they plan to improve this. Bye bye Moto E! I am still using Moto E 1st gen. Awesome phone by Motorola under Google.
