This damn phone's screen won't stay turned off! If you so much as glance at it it will light up like a Christmas tree. It's clearly a bug from a built in faulty sensor that's being sold as a feature. There's no way to turn off this "feature" because there's no software support for it.
I'd bet it's a Chinese spying tool for facial recognition and tracking, as well as A.I. learning and impersonation.
So cool! I use it as my main phone

After three years of being subjected to this infernal machine, I'm finally glad to be upgrading. I haven't completely settled on what I'll replace it with yet, but the potatoes in my kitchen are starting to look tempting.
It is no coincidence, friends, that this atrocity was unleashed upon the world in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty. For God looked upon the Earth and saw that Mankind was truly beyond all salvation. So it was that He unleashed a plague to topple nations and burn out the corruption wrought by this, the Moto E7.
Truly, with a scarce 2GB of RAM insufficient for even the lowliest of modern Chrome tabs, and some additional sluggish performance to boot, the E7 is a device to be pitied.
But this was not enough. Motorola had far more in store than a phone of merely sub-par quality.
For the Moto E7, it was decided, should not only hang regularly, but on random special occasions to completely restart itself. A practice it could perform sometimes once every few days, and at others, three times in succession. With each restart taking several minutes and occasionally failing. Also, on every restart, the phone screams "HELLOMOTO". Even when the sound is muted. It needs to be disabled via a separate setting. Yes, I have had my phone spontaneously yell from my pocket and frighten me in the middle of the night.
All this could be forgiven. So far we have the makings of a bad phone, yes, but one that merely indicates understandable incompetence and laziness on the part of the developers. A willingness to produce a poor product, make a few quick bucks, and call it a day.
Alas, the monsters of the Motorola plane had something much more nefarious in mind. A plot to create not only a bad phone, but the single most obnoxious machine ever devised. And so, while the ordinary buttons- the power and volume controls- were created and placed beside one another (naturally), in secret another button was forged. One button to override them all, and in darkness bind them. The Accursed Doom-Button. The infernal contract to which it was bound stipulates as follows:
1. The Doom-button cannot be disabled or rebound by any software means. (It is invisible to the firmware and to apps I have downloaded specifically to remap other buttons of its type.)
2. The Doom-button shall interrupt all audio output (including podcasts and audiobooks) and onscreen functions, and make a sound of its own.
3. The Doom-button shall summon Google Assistant.
3a. If Google Assistant is fully disabled, the Doom-button will still grey out the entire screen to draw your attention to a popup telling you to enable Google Assistant.
3b. Google Assistant cannot be removed from the Device, only disabled.
4. The Doom-button shall press itself whenever the Device is placed into a trouser pocket, and whenever your podcast or audiobook gets to a good bit.
Thus, it should be fully self-evident why, in the year this device was let loose upon the world, Almighty God turned His back and wept for the failure of His creation.
The only salvation to be had now is by our own hands. Do not buy the Motorola E7. Do not accept a Motorola E7 for free. Do not allow the Fae to trick you into owning a Motorola E7. Do not repeat my mistakes.

This has got to be one of the worst phones I've ever used, i mean it's so slow, average cameras nothing exciting, screen's awful start to glitch at random sometimes, can't leave apps open it'll totally just restart, i mean who in their right mind puts a google assistant button in this junk, worst part of it all, it starts crashing the moment you plug a charger in it. Takes like a solid 7 minutes for this phone to turn on and leave the loading screen when you restart the device, -7/10. DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON THIS.
The thing that surprises me the most is how this phone has a 48MP camera with a Helio G25 chipset and a symmetrical camera island which is rare to see nowadays
This is a pointless phone if your looking for a solid performance then I won't recommend this phone because this is too dam slow and cannot do simple tasks like browser however 5000mah while it has a good battery life but prioritises the camera and the design is simple for a Motorola it has some rough spots and it's 4gb of ram makes it annoying for some reason and it freezes when I open up my games when I have too many tabs
This phone is an absolute joke on how slow it is to run social media and other apps and it's hard to make phone calls due to the dealt the camera quality is just mid and the keyboard is slow bad and slow and too stiff I would not recommend this phone if you want a good performance this is an disappointing 2/10
This is the worst phone I've ever owned in my 22 years of mobile phone use.
The camera is garbage, the flash stopped working (no torch) and Motorola's Android updates stop a number of apps from working properly.
I guess it was a risk to try this brand, and this will be the first and last Motorola phone I own.
Going to look at Samsung / Apple and try to forget about the year I've spent using this awful device.
You would struggle to find a worse phone than the moto e7.
Strange how 99% of the negative comments posted on here about this phone, are from people who want to do everything except actually make a phone call. And that is what a mobile phone is for!!!
Plus it is also strange how 1 person can say it is the worst phone ever, then someone else says it is excellent. Surely it comes down to personal choice as it may be good for one person, but rubbish for someone else.
Quetzalcoatlus, 27 Feb 2022Idk what do you expect from 2GB of RAM, that's the definition of underpowered in 2022. Totally agree...it's the worst phone I've ever had. It's sooo slow to respond, cuts off mud phone calls, slow to deliver & send messages....it really is very poor quality.
One to avoid
Battery completely stopped charging after less than a year. Dont bother with this junk

Pretty good phone for the E7 plus version, it's cheap and it can run pretty well! It's a decent gaming phone and good for basic tasks like social media, the camera quality and the 5000mAh battery life is amazing!
Best phone I've had in my life, typing from it right now!
10/10, Motorola deserves more.
Terrible phone.
Yes it's cheap, but it doesn't even handle basic tasks such as outlook email and web browsing without stuttering and lagging.
It's not underpowered: it's a reasonable CPU and 2GB isn't that bad. I think there's something critically wrong with its software memory tuning - even though it's 2GB, it was showing as generally only using 1.2GB, closing too many tasks that should really stay open, and forcing loads of re-loading of apps.
Heaven help you if you accidentally press the "google assistant" button, because that freezes everything for 30 seconds while it loads.
And forget any animated games, because background apps needing to reload make everything stutter *all the time*.
I returned mine after one week and got a more expensive phone (only slightly) that actually works.
This has got to be the worst mobile ever. It's design leaves it difficult to hold without turning on help window, it switches pages when you move it to other sites you don't want, it doesn't stop when you come out of a site so you can still hear the video, it's so sliw
Keith Tait, 19 Jan 2022I think its amazing

After calls very difficult to end calls. All info older than 30 days are lost automatically. Very robust though. When it falls you pick it up without any problems.
I bought this phone from Enfield Ponders End branch of Tesco. They cannot help me repair it. I will go back to my old Samsung. The Moto e7 is barely 10 months old. It is no good. I won't advice anyone to go for a Motorola phone. Worst phone I ever bought. Benjamin.
I think its amazing
