Well yeah, but all I meant was according to reports, MS earns more from Android than Surface. Can be true..!!! Android sells more or Surface falls short in sales, possibly both affecting..!! Also, it's expected Ms revenue from Android would be 8+B$ by 2017.
Anyways coming to phone, I knew, but thanks for confirming that the SD Card slot is not patented, instead it's the FAT file system and debunking the "Slow SD Card" myth. Also, 8Gb or 16GB, celebrate the phone for it's asking price..!! Cheers.!!

If it has NFC I would buy it, it perfect for me. I use google wallet most of the time. It's fast and easier than using plastic card or cash.

what is OTG bro...
plz explainBecos there is no SD card slot, so you use a flash USB drive. All your file, songs, movies are stored on that flash memory and you connect that flash to the phone using usb-miniUSB cable any time you want them offline.
That is OTG. Just Google it.

1- Microsoft gains nothing from MicroSD, they didn't founded anything relevant with SD, it is actually FAT file system what Microsoft gathering money from.
And they have right to do, because if you make money from other people's ideas or products you should pay for it.
2- I don't think they pay nothing more than 5 dollars per device to microsoft, yeah if you sell more you pay also more but you also gain money? am I right?
3- Indeed it is a cheap device, but it is not an excuise for this handicap, I mean if you bought 8 gb version and out of memory, so what...
Delete unwanted games, old photos, cache data?
For how long?
Will you have past with your device in this way, I mean will be there snapshots or some clips of your own rememberance?
Wedding invitations or parties, holidays, activities...
Do you think you going to have a backup device or something on all of thoose moments or some may be?
I don't think so...
Our brain is great, magic, fantastic computer but.
He also forgets.
A simple SD-Slot means nothing, the meaning is BACKING-UP.
And we don't have good enough believe against cloud privacy, not hiding anything means not somethings needs to be remain as private.
Don't take above comments offensive, I told just mine opinions as you did.

MicroSD doesn't slow your device down, get faster cards from known good quality brands and you'll see.
It is your myth may be but true.
Just letting you know.
SOME SD CARDS SLIGHTLY FASTER THAN EMMC STORAGES.
You may be think, NAND drives are faster...
Partially: yes, but it is not...
They saying you it is flash storage but they not saying it is not NAND, because it is eMMC (Same technology as SD).

i am amazed by this phone! the long-living battery alone is an A+++++. I charged it 100% yesterday at 4pm, its now 11pm and it still has 25% left although I used it all the time [mostly on wifi, but 3g as well] with all types of notifications on, messaging, calling, browsing, uploading, downloading, filming, snaping pictures, playing - you name it! i skyped with video on 3g for 20 minutes, and 1,5 hrs on wifi and its still alive and kicking! after a good amount of apps installed it hasnt slowed down one bit! it actually seems faster than my laptop, and surely 3x faster than my iPod Touch! i couldnt have spent 160 euros in a better way!!

hi Indian frnds.don't waste u r time.u can go to Sony or Samsung or HTC or Nokia(for windows).b coz how many days waiting?.with out service centers how is possible sales.I think Motorola company interesting to Europe countries only.so don't waste u r time .

At First, my bad for not communicating well, actually I meant I liked Moto strategy of selling cheap phones with good specs and quality (good specs meaning better but not the best).
Secondly, when I was referring to Samsung, with all respect to their Galaxy Line, I was referring to their 8K-18K range but no way i was comparing this piece to I9500/S4, even in my dreams.
Thirdly, in case of Apple, I've clearly meant that for next Size variant apple indeed charges 100$ extra, but MotoG 16GB to 8GB difference is 20$. I was thankful that they didn't inflated their price. I know, one would miss SD card too on it, but overall if you can grab a Dual sim version, 16GB phone for less than 15000, I would be a happy deal. Today iPhone4 came in news again to be sold for 15000 in India, 8GB model. As someone also said, MS holds the patent for SD Card and in Case of Android, MS earns more on android than Surface due to patents.
Lastly for value to money aspect, this phone matters a lot. Probably, this phone will come with KitKat out of box and will even be good for android developers. Hoping, they would release a developer version too (32GB) just like Moto X. If rightly priced, this phone will change the mid-price market and can give a touch competition to all.

Ofc there isn't , google owns motorola and they said their Nexus devices won't be getting SD card slots. So it will always apply to motorola too.
Btw, google "Meenova". It solves all your Storage problems !

8 gb is nothing, actually its about 6 gb.
This is the reason I won't buy any google branded phones, it is not important how much cheap the phone is.
I'm sure there are many people thinks like me, but there are also people just buy this crap blindly.
If no one buy google googles then they will certainly re-consider what they doing wrong.
You spoken about Samsung's strategy but only them who producing most advanced useful phones rightnow.
I9500 is coated with polymer-plastic but it has also everything what you can expect.
A lot of sensors, acceptable battery life and it is also removable-replacable, hard buttons, indicator lights, MICRO SD SLOT, etc...
Thats why I keep buying Samsung phones, because there is no alternative for me, not important how much it make feels cheap...
