I am currently using this device.
This is my opinion after using it for a whole month.
Camera:- As stated, it gives the best camera in this price range. I am not much of a camera guy but the camera is awesome. Camera also offers 4K recording but OIS is not available which results in shaky videos. Low light images are decent.
My Score:- 98/100 . Based on the fact that it is a mid range phone.
Display:- The colors are very punchy. The screen is very smooth.I had an accidental small one day and thanks to the Gorilla Glass it's completely fine. Display is clearly visible in the sunlight. It offers 5.2' FHD which I prefer over AMOLED.
My Score:- 96/100, because of the pixels, Gorilla Glass and less screen glaring.
Sensors:-Fingerprint scanner is ultra snappy. You get NFC which it's becoming a necessity. Only drawback was the absence of a compass.
My Score:- 84/100, because of lack of Compass.
Battery:- Thanks to Snapdragon 625, it can easily last for atleast 2 Days. (I am not a person who eyes are mostly glue on the smartphone's screen). People might complain about 3000 mAh as less, but you get stock Android literally. Which means efficiency. It supports quick charge and hence charges to 100% in 1½ hours only.
My Score:- 81/100, based on the fact that some people might not be able to use this as a daily driver. It lacks USB type C.
Build Quality:- Buttons on the side are plastic. Only the back panel seems to be the promised metal design. The camera bump is quite nasty. Considering a back cover would be good. The phone feels great when holding and looks even better than the images.
My Score:- 95/100, because of the camera bump.
Overall score:-91/100. Which means a highly recommended phone by me.
I live in India.
Here other Chinese manufactures seems to be getting an upper hand such as Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi.
These are budget phones and they also have downsides.
I have noticed that these phones do not offer essentials such as NFC, Gorilla Glass. Redmi 4 offers Infrared, but it's literally useless. NFC would be better.
I hope this opinion helps.
Note:- This opinion was not intended to hurt others feelings towards other companies.
between LG G4 & Motorola G5 plus?
Between the Huawei P10 Lite, Samsung Galaxy A5 2017, Honor 6X, Nokia 5 & the Moto G5 Plus which has:
1. Louder speakers?
2. Better viewing in direct sunlight &/or great outdoor readability?
3. True whole day battery life?
4. A camera that has great contrast, great saturation, natural-looking and more than average ow-light/night photography?

Gino76, 02 Jun 2017So unless I have more than average network coverage navigation apps like Google Maps is pretty... moreIt would work fine but detecting locations would not be faster nor much accurate....as it would be in the case while u have faster 4g connectivity
Partha, 31 May 2017Mi note 4, Lenovo P2, Motorola G5 Plus.... Which is the best? Please suggest a phone.... I nee... moreI personally have the moto g5 plus because it is the only one that works on Verizon. Out of those 3 devices I would go for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. It has the best bang for buck. On Amazon it's $200 or less for the gold. You get 4 gbs of ram which really helps with multitasking, if you want 4gb of ram on g5 plus you have to spend $300 for one without prime ads. I have the 2gb version just because of lack of money, it works but 4 would be better. P2 has 3gb which is also sufficient and runs for $200 as well. It all comes down to personal preference too.
AnonD-569433, 02 Jun 2017If u have slow internet connection with compass...then also it wont give u much accurate as it... moreSo unless I have more than average network coverage navigation apps like Google Maps is pretty much near useless or won't perform as normal?

Gino76, 01 Jun 2017I created a survey on Twitter choosing between a phone with :
1. A compass but slower 4G spee... moreIf u have slow internet connection with compass...then also it wont give u much accurate as it will be in the case with have faster 4g with no compass...
As i have told u before my experience was pretty good with fastest 4g & no compass in moto g5 plus
I have just began using this phone and I am impressed thus far!!! OK, it does have a few little niggles but, for what it costs.........really?.......you cannot complain at all. If you want a flagship phone you pay a flagship price and, at the end of the day, what do I need? I need to be able to make/answer calls, receive/send emails, use net and take the odd pic/video. This wee phone does all of this more than adequately. I have dedicated camera, mp3, video consul, TV etc., this is just a workhorse for everyday use and it does it well as well as looking and feeling nice. I am extremely pleased to have chosen this above the Samsung or Lumias which I previously owned. Well done Lenovo/Motorola!!!!!
I created a survey on Twitter choosing between a phone with :
1. A compass but slower 4G speeds
or
2. No compass (like the G5 Plus) but have a faster 4G speeds
People voted the second one. Would you guys agree?
Would Google Maps not be that accurate or would be slow in any form of navigation or say finding a Thai restaurant in the middle of Paris or Rome?
Anonymous, 01 Jun 2017mine one has no issues after the update..the battery backup time has increased to 7-8hrs and ... morez series of lenovo is no more...so dont go bcoz no updates nor security patch u will get
