captain, 11 Apr 2018no compass,no gyro ,so its crappy for GPSNo Compass? But in specs it says there is a compass.
Best value phone offer.Very smooth operation.Fast connection gps,so no need compass.Nice photo camera, strong flash lights dark room.No nfc for my device ,also very simple radio .Get hot on use network internet data.Maybe some different version available for same phone.Seen varies selling in Netherland. Some gold color made in India ,grey made in China. Some report Motorola uk in back cover .So need search for the differences .Slippery needs case
Many variants of this phone depends on market or provider. Also no radio recording,RDS info on radio in some devices. As the lack of nfc function for some of them.
Gino76, 03 Apr 2018According to Motorola the G5S has no e-compass.No mentioned by motorola. Phones made in India after December 2017, have this function. Also new stock camera application.
hiro, 29 Mar 2018Compass not need as phone locks GPS very fast .Also support e compassAccording to Motorola the G5S has no e-compass.
For flash version maybe depends on made in .Date or other factory .Also NFC not have all models too.
Gary, 31 Mar 2018XT1793 uk version, dual tone for meSo Moto must be selling random spec under the same model because I had the same model with single led flash, I never used flash even on my DSLR though , flash ruins images unless in studio conditions
Gary, 31 Mar 2018XT1793 uk version, dual tone for meYour Moto g5s has a dual tone flash ? Mine had a single led
For e compass try connect via gps and check direction if show North with compass application .Also maybe work with internet connection with compass application.
Hiri, 29 Mar 2018Dual tone flash not work with stock camera .For other application try use auto flash or stand... moreG5s doesn't have dual tone flash at all. Regardless of using stock app or not, dual tone flash is hardware not software
hiro, 29 Mar 2018Compass not need as phone locks GPS very fast .Also support e compassThere is no known info that the G5S has an e-compass. Please kindly confirm and double check?
And if i may ask you would you rather have a phone that has slow Cat4 LTE but with an e-compass or compass? Or a phone with faster Cat6 LTE but no compass at all?
Gino76, 27 Mar 2018Yes I am talking about the actual flash. Dual-tone for me is better than a single one. Bacon ... moreDual tone flash not work with stock camera .For other application try use auto flash or standard flash depends on light condition
Gino76, 27 Mar 2018Yes I am talking about the actual flash. Dual-tone for me is better than a single one. Bacon ... moreI found bacon camera app only worked with my phone's that didn't have full api2 or whatever it is, so it doesn't work with my Xperia X compact, but I found another camera app which isn't quite as good as bacon but it does the same thing and works on my Xperia, which is called freedcam , again it enables the noise reduction to be turned off, thankfully because the Xperia is mushy in anything other than bright sun
Gino76, 27 Mar 2018The problem I can see there are so many conflicting/inaccurate/incomplete infos by Motorola li... moreI got rid of my g5s within a few weeks as it wasn't as good as my Xperia X compact or Moto G3 and Moto G2
, I didn't test for a compass but Google maps worked ok for me, not sure how you test for a compass to be honest , my star gazing apps worked fine on it, rotating round and accurately finding the right directions
Gino76, 27 Mar 2018Yes I am talking about the actual flash. Dual-tone for me is better than a single one. Bacon ... moreYes bacon camera is a third party app that can enable you to turn off the nasty blotchy noise reduction, I prefer noise to blotches , and yes unfortunately the flash is single LED
