Why is this even a phone? Motorola failed miserably at the G7 line, and all 3 phones are downgrades from the G6. This is a downgrade from the G5!
My Moto g7 power hotspot feature don't allow me to browse although the client device a laptop in my case
indicated that a connection with the phone is established???
Anonymous, 10 Sep 2019Motorola is no longer a U.S. company. Sold to Lenovo (Chinese) a while back. hahaha
Anonymo, 18 Sep 2019The battery life is excellent. Speaker is average maybe slightly below on loudness but because... moreThe speaker acts as the call phone ear receiver as well, that's tre. It's a bit disconcerting if you're not used to it, but I guess Motorola desperately tried to cut the cost while still giving a quality phone.
Anonymous, 17 Sep 2019Is it really that bad? I meaning low volume during calls? Because that would prevent me from ... moreThe volume control can be controlled by the settings. Like on any phone. People confuse media volume with call volume and with alarm volume...

Speaker is average maybe slightly below on loudness but because it is front facing it's directed at you. The bonus with that is if your in a really loud place you can put it into speakerphone and still hold it against your ear for extra volume
Live in Sweden, latest security patch no problem att all with anything.
Is it really that bad? I meaning low volume during calls?
Because that would prevent me from buying, which is a pity, because I wanted a Phone with good battery.
Bob, 13 Sep 2019Anyone experienced low volume during call ? Although i set the volume to max when i'm talking ... moreYes. Same problem - straight outta the box. Can't hear caller unless have the tiniest spot JAMMED inside my ear. And I do mean twisted and JAMMED into my ear! Turning it on speaker is worst. Can only hear phone calls with Bluetooth. What good is a phone with a gigantic battery if you can't hear PHONE CALLS?
Anyone experienced low volume during call ? Although i set the volume to max when i'm talking to the phone (with or without using headset) it is still quite low and i can hardly hear anything if i'm on the street or other noisy areas. This never happened when using my previous phone.
This only happens during calls only. For instance, youtube seems to play excellent (with or without headset).

Is anyone out there experience the battery usage is not showing?..if someone knows the solution pls let me know or teach me how to resolve my problem
Why does the US market get the 32gig 3gig ram version n the rest the world gets the 64/4gig ram....????? When Motorola is a umm I dunno a USA company!!
Its great. Lasts me about 3 days. My version does support 2.4GHz and 5Ghz just fine. I have an Eero mesh wifi system and the G7 uses it fine. I get typically 100mps down 12mps up on Spectrum cable internet.
Johnmagat, 05 Sep 2019I wish motorola will push update to boost wifi signal because that is the only problem in this... moreWifi strength depends on the wireless router, not on the phone... The phone acts merely as a receiver.
Great phone, especially for its low price. The battery life is amazing, this phone literally gets me trough 3 days of heavy use (4+ hours screen-on-time per day), including listening to Spotify over Bluetooth several hours per day. I've had 16 hours of screen-on-time once, but usually when I'm outside and the screen needs to be bright I often "only" get about 12 hours.
With 4 GB RAM (at least in the EU version) the phone feels fast and has no problem multitasking between multiple apps without any lag. Another great thing is the speaker, which is very good for its price range.
The worst thing with this phone is without a doubt its camera. Sure, it gets decent photos if there's daylight, but generally this phone wont be shooting any award winning pictures.
Lots of people have complained about the Wi-Fi. While I agree that it is worse than other phones, it is still very much usable, at least in my case. The phone only supports 2.4 GHz and I get about 60 Mbps in the speedtest.net app. Other phones (on the same 2.4 GHz router) gets about double that speed, and usually around 500-700 Mbps on 5 GHz.
That said, making calls over Wi-Fi and downloading large apps like PUBG isn't really a problem, it just takes a few more minutes to do so.
I wish motorola will push update to boost wifi signal because that is the only problem in this device..wifi is weak and corrupted even in short distance from wifi rooter.
Kate, 31 Aug 2019Diligent searching and an hour with an ee tech manager and still can't find a way to increase ... moreThere might be a dial-in activation to increase ringer time-out... My Consumer Cellular phone is on ATT network & (up to) 30-second ring time is activated by dialing: **61*4013693201**30# -- Occasionally, needs to be refreshed when something on mothership gets re-booted. Be aware that ring timer starts from when carrier accepts incoming call - but before connection is established with your phone; several seconds may have elapsed before you hear 1st ring! Your phone is easier (quicker) for carrier to find, if you do a 'cold' reboot occasionally - or when you travel away from your 'home' tower... Please post your results...
Diligent searching and an hour with an ee tech manager and still can't find a way to increase the number of phone rings to more than three. By the time you've got the phone out and decided to answer, it's gone to voicemail. On most phones, this is an easy adjustment.
