GSMarena, I am your really fan. So, when you are going to review this phone? Especially endurance rating?

This is a phone with issues.
Performance is notably laggy, RAM management appears to be very poor.
File read/write times are abysmal. File management takes forever.
The lack of ac wifi wouldn't be so annoying if the download speeds it did achieve weren't so cripplingly slow. Wifi drop out is also an issue.
I suspect it's mainly a software issue, as the SD665 should be more than capable.
The IPS LCD panel is one of the worst I've ever seen. It has a nasty grey tinge and extremely washed out colours.
Hopefully all these issues will be fixed as and when Lenovo roll out the next update (still stuck on 12/19 security patch at the end of 3/20)
I'm still waiting GSMarenas review for this one.
I like moto g8 power due to general official use with sufficient spec
For people needing NFC (dk why you would use that) have problems using integrated double simcart this is probably not your stuff. If you like 2 days of battery, big screen, high performance for the price, great audio, fantastic selfie camera although the camera's on the back are a bit less performantic they still do their job. It's a phone of 230 euro that comes close to an Iphone x. Just this alone makes it a incredible phone.
When it come to India Motorola price so high in india even snap dragon 720g under 13000 but Moto gives 665 under 15000
4 likely mediocre cameras instead of 1 good one, no NFC, no compass (!!!), no 5GHz WiFi, and they ditched the dedicated memory card slot for a shared one, so you can only have *either* dual sim *or* single sim and a memory card. Man this is pathetic.
It's like they're doing this on purpose, and of course the better versions of the G8 get some of the features but not the huge battery.
This is just so incredibly stupid how they're sabotaging themselves by intentionally crippling their phones so none of them have all the features you want :(
Johan, 11 Mar 2020I don't get why so many people care about 5 GHz WiFi. I have the G7 Power which also only supp... moreIt does help in crowded areas as the 2.4GHz bandwidth is pretty crowded (= too many different networks using nearly the same frequency). With 5GHz that is not (yet) the case so you might be able to get a better experience.
It's especially a huge deal when living in a house with multiple parties.
After 6 days of use I am very happy with this phone. It does everything I could want and at a good price.
I don't get why so many people care about 5 GHz WiFi. I have the G7 Power which also only supports 2.4 GHz. I usually get 50-60 Mbps, which is more than enough for a phone. Do you guys torrent on your phones? Why do you need 5 GHz? 2.4 GHz is available everywhere there is 5 GHz...
This will be a great phone. I own a G7 Power, it works wonderfully for a budget phone. Been very happy with the responsiveness, it just plains works as good as a phone 2-3x the price, and the battery last forever. The new one, G8 power, has more memory, better screen, faster cpu, and better camera! Sound perfect. Why anyone buys a $600+ phone is beyond me. Silly sheep...
Nope, 01 Mar 2020Compared to what? The G7 Power had a much weaker and older Snapdragon 632 (14nm), so the G8 Po... moreSamsung 11nm is much better than their 14nm that is true, I am not sure I would say its better than the 12nm used by TSMC tough... They always been slightly ahead of Samsung even their 16nm was better than Samsungs 14nm... :S
There is a lite version rumored to come with Helio P35, just hope they do not cut it to 2GB RAM but its gonna have even more endurance than this! :D
No AC wifi?
Anis, 03 Mar 2020I was looking for this phone but lack of compass is really annoying.Download one then
Had a live chat with a Motorola rep today and they told me the screen glass is NEG Nippon Electric Glass which is Japanese company. From my experience with this glass on my old Nokia 8.1 it was pretty tough
Anonymous, 23 Feb 2020I could live without NFC, but again NO compass... I was looking for this phone but lack of compass is really annoying.
Vinu, 29 Feb 2020Lower grade processorCompared to what? The G7 Power had a much weaker and older Snapdragon 632 (14nm), so the G8 Power's Snapdragon 665 (11nm) is definitely a noteworthy upgrade in terms of performance and efficiency. The Moto Power series is always about good battery life. If you are looking for outright performance, you are looking at the wrong phone!
Lower grade processor
