Hi have you tried the app Battery Doctor and CM security? You might have a lot of things loading in your system. My battery normally gets hot when running Google Maps with location and data for a long time and charging it at the same time.
Hope this helps - it's a brilliant phone and excellent value for money.

S... moretry to play those videos with same sd card in other device if play fine and your moto device display seems to be okay then there might be a software issue .. first restart device if doesn't work then reset

I am facing problem with video playback. After playing one video second video plays blurred. Same when I tried VLC. And it happens with videos recorded by device as well. Anyone else faced issue like this?

this mobile (moto g 3rd gen) has very good performance. for me, this is excelent mobile phone. i don't have any issue about this mobile phone since day 1. thank you motorola company!!! bravo!!!

I bought this phone in last month. There is lot of problems with WiFi connectivity. It unfriendly with WiFi networks. Other phones Samsung is much better in WiFi connectivity, tested by me with other mobiles. And second one is front camera icon missed. Service centres are also poor. Since first day I am facing much problems. Because of no return policy I am pressurised to using this dabba. Moto has brand name only don't have worthful piece. I have been much regretted to have this moto. Sincere advice is not to purchase moto at any situation.
