Format on your phone first then re format in another device as mass storage. i don't know why but it solved my issue. now I bounce between 3 different brand cards to check my security cams and edit my dashcam without issue (i use a 8 in 1 reader tool so I never have to remove my phones microsd card)

Good phone but outdated
Idk why others give it such good reviews. Maybe I was just unlucky.
At its brightest setting, the screen is DARK. I basically can't use it if it is sunny outside. My old phone, released in 2018 is at least 40% brighter.
After two years it's starting to chug a bit sometimes, and the battery doesn't last all day (but I am on my phone all the time). Probably... about 75-80% of the battery life when I first got it.

My only problem is the finger sensor button is coming apart.
Been using this phone for 3 years now and I've never had a problem. The battery is still really good. It stopped receiving updates last year, but it's still good with rooted Android 11. With a magisk module, I'm able to use the hotspot without subscribing through Verizon which is nice. Call quality is really good. No dropped calls or weird stuff happening. Actually, the more I deal with other people's phones, the more I love mine. My only complaint is the 3.5mm headphone jack is a little bit quieter than my old HTC phones. You can fix that by using a media player with an equalizer though, like poweramp, just bump the gain up one notch and it's fine.
I saw another post saying that their microSD card corrupted from an update. I have to say the same happened to me. It's good, but that's a major red flag. It might be just a Motorola thing, but it's worth mentioning.
I like most everything about the phone except for two major issues, making it overpriced. The RF front end is poor. Works much better on GSMA bands in low signal areas, but forget about GSMT (most calls never connect or are dropped). This is a line-of-sight/in-city phone. Receiver is definitely overloaded by local WiFi (tested this with a spectrum analyzer, signal generator, etc.). Next, battery over-charges. Once it signals full charge, take it off! Definitely a major issue with low quality Lenovo OEM packs. With rare use, never deep discharge, no excess heat, etc., catastrophic battery bloat is incredible, starting right after 12 month warranty; guaranteed. Check Motorola forums, they are in denial with charging/battery defects. When purchased, measure phone thickness with plastic caliper at middle, check it again after 11 months or spin test on flat surface every month, if it's 1mm greater...warranty ticket immediately.
Like Moto G Power 2020 mostly. Randomly re-boots which is really annoying. An update from Motorola one time corrupted my microSD card and I lost everything on it. Has not happened again, but was really annoying. Will replace this phone in future. Too bad, otherwise really like it.

I do like this phone, but now it has some drawbacks:
1. No more security updates.
2. No more Android beyond 11.
3. Battery still pretty good, but certainly not 2 days.
4. Speaker is OK, but not great.
5. Camera occasionally malfunctions and requires a full restart.
got this for like $200 back in september 2020 and it's still working fine (march 2023). it's not blazingly fast but you can't really tell the difference between it and other phones for common use. idk how it does for gaming but for regular phone use it's a great phone, especially for the pricepoint. the battery life is amazing, too, lasting about 2 days at first - now that im almost 3 years with it i'm looking into battery replacements, but it can still usually get through the whole day.

Really hate this phone, I've had it for about two years. If I turn it off I have to continuously tap the back of it in random spots because the poorly constructed piece of garbage has poorly connected wires, and tapping is the only way to make them connect.
Constantly crashes from very simple programs like YouTube and google maps. Texts are completely unreliable, will sometimes head out instantly, other times they will take 2-3 hours to send.
Many people want to buy my Motorola Moto G8 Power phone. I bought it at the end of 2020. 64 gigs of storage space, stereo sound, clean user interface. Not for sale. It's still working for three years, even though it doesn't get updates from Motorola. Only Google play services and the applications can be updated from the play store. But still it works great.
I upgraded to an unlocked Motorola G Power (2022) from a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 n November of 2022. I am, so far, completely satisfied with everything about the phone. It's user-friendly, easy to navigate thru the settings menu, different apps and so on. It has a sufficient amount of memory that fit my needs. Great screen size with options for split screen, after a screenshot several different options
worse phone ever
Genuinely an all-around solid phone.
Pros:

Quite affordable
Quite durable
Basically runs AOSP
Headphone jack
Cons:
Bad customer support from Motorola
Only recieved one major Android update (Android 11)
Ultrawide camera is horrible
Display colouraccuracy is so-so
