So after looking over all the reviews, opinions, and actual specs, it has come to my attention that there seems to be quite a few Moto-haters out there.
While the Moto X does not have the top of the line, brand new processor, or an external SD slot, it makes up for this in a multitude of other ways. First and fore most, the full architecture of the phone helps by using certain processors to complete certain tasks, I.E. the language processor to handle voice commands, etc... Not, one processor to rule them all. Second, if the end user experience is flawless, the number of cores becomes a moot point, most consumers don't know or care what a processor core is, if they take the time to look, the mentality is "bigger number, better phone...uugghh!!" THEY KNOW NOT THE MAGIC OF TECH!!! Third, Motorola has ALWAYS made rock solid phones. I ran a MB520 for YEARS, before I could afford to upgrade my phone. And honestly, the Bravo still runs pretty well with CM7 on it, my kids are using it now, for games and music and stuff, it works better than an iPod.
With all the phones coming out right now, I would gladly have any Moto phone by my side, cause I know it will work when I need it. There is a design theory at work here, to build something that you know will work, no matter what, you use parts that you know will work, NO MATTER WHAT. And this is coming from someone who used to work as a repair tech for an International music company.
P.S. I do not work for Motorola, nor for Google, this is from the experience of 15+ years with cellular and computer technology.
After IFA, no one is talking about Moto X anymore. Got wiped out by Note3 and Z1.
AnonD-100842, 03 Sep 2013moto x vs nexus 4, which one beats????my dear..i tho8 beats was in htc only..
khe khe khe...
This would be the best android phone. Other android phones are putting 4 or 8 cores to make their phones faster. That is not the solution. If I have to get an android phone. This would be the very best option. I like Motorola because of reputation of undeniably durable and reliable to compete with iphone.
This Mobile is getting some very good reviews... And yes it's not all about having more cores and and stuff... It's all about performance and this phone does it... The major problem is the non expandable memory and not so good camera... Price could have been a bit low.... Other than these I think it's a very good phone...
is it known when it be released in europe if even going to be for europe ??
I hate it cuz it doesnot support sd card
It doesnt have latest specs
& it price
Better get nexus 4 if u dont want sd card support
Jollyvi, 01 Sep 2013I hope Moto X will be available in the Philippines ASAP. ^^same here desperately waiting...
In general the Moto X will give you better performance, but at a higher price. As well as it has the possibility for custimization of it's casing.
Let your wallet decide if it's worth the extra cost or not =)
Marco, 02 Sep 2013Calling the S4 anything other than a dual quad core is a joke. Not running 8 core at once.
... moreNot logged in so couldn't correct parts of my comment. But anyways, Adreno 320 @400MHz and SGX544MP3 offer approximately the same performance.
Therefore the Moto X get's equal to and sometimes even better score than HTC One, GS4 in GLBenchmark tests, even while running 1080p offscreen - which is realistic results for the S4 and One, but the real life on-screen performance is much better for the Moto X since it only has to caluculate half the resolution.
Still, for surfing I prefer my 6" ZP990 any day.
Also, Air touch is nothing new, it's old and first came out in china/india phones years ago. Some even called them, and I think still call it, "no touch" - which of course sounds very misleading at first. Just a hype and completely pointless feature which happily can be shut off.
Different phones for different peoples.
You apparantly think you need S4 for the mentioned usage, well - you don't.

All the things you listed as useful in a phone does not require max power HW, but it does require a lot of battery. Hence the Droid Maxx is the best option still.
The pretend octa version of the S4 also has same GPU as this phone, and many others. Only difference is that this has half the screen resolution and therefore higher fps performance in many games. GPU is still the bottleneck, not the CPU.
DAN13L, 29 Aug 2013I think you are are right about people buying a Motorola. I bought nothing but Motorolas for t... moreNo one can beat gs4 i9500 the most advance mobile phone up to now powered by octacore and air gesture without in any other phone.
