All Readers/Buyers please keep in mind this is a mid range smart phone and we should not expect much for this price range 18500/- INR . Every smart phone have Merits as well as demerits. No manufacturer offers us a mobile with out any demerit.I have been waiting to buy a mid range mobile sine one month. I saw many reviews of many phones. finally i came to conclusion, No mobile is perfect in every department and also the performance depends on the usage too. Finally i ordered Moto X play 16 gb instead of wasting another 1500/- for another 16 GB. i could buy a 64GB class 10 memory card for 1500/- These are the few features.
2GB of RAM, Massive battery ,Dual Sim (Not Hybrid),21 MP camera, 128gb expandable,Excellent call quality,Moto Brand value, Excellent service.

Finally a Mid range device performs like a Mid range Device. We should not expect the mobile worth 20,000 to perform like a 50,000 /- mobile

nikit , 15 Sep 2015Plz say me wch phone is good x play or asus zenfone selfie bcz im.confused between bothBoth phones are some what similar in features. However when it comes to price, Asus Zenfone is cheaper. But moto x play has a great battery of 3630mah and a 21 mp camera. Also moto x play can give the latest android updates continuously unlike asus which has only limited updates. IF U ARE TO COMPARE THESE TWO i wud suggest u to go for Moto X Play.

vipulvirus, 15 Sep 2015So I was waiting for this device before it was announced and now it is launched, I am a bit di... moreAgreed that the pricing of the Moto X Play could have been more aggressive maybe retailing for around 17k. But lets face it, the main usp of this phone is that massive battery, the 21mp camera and the motorola brand value and service support. Personally I would have been happier if they had given the gyro sensor. As for comparing it with the Oneplus One the 16GB retails for 19000 and the 64GB one costs 22000 without an option for expandable memory and no one has been particularly happy about OPO's post sales service either once things turn ugly. Motorola isnt the best when it comes to support but they make up for it in presence. All in all the Moto X play more than makes up for its cons and maybe it isnt such a great value for money but it does convey the impression of peace of mind.

Nik, 15 Sep 2015Planning to buy this phone..Do we have any more colors other than black and white.. How will b... moreCons:
1. Speaker is mono not stero
2. Camera is afraid of night.
3. No laser autofocus
4. No finger print sensor
5. Poly-carbonate body

Pros:
1. 1.8 Octa & 2 GB Ram works fine because no custom software or bloatware. Moto OIS integrates with Lollipop unlike other interfaces where customization & bloatware eat RAM. 2. Very big battery. Forget desire eye or One Plus 2. This battery beats all.
3. Excellent still photos in day-light (can compete with G4 & even beat it in some cases daylight still photography)
4. Price. Launched very cheap @ flipkart in India
Go for 32 GB version.
I ordered mine yesterday midnight...

So I was waiting for this device before it was announced and now it is launched, I am a bit disappointed with the pricing and specs offered. The phone features 2 GB ram only and runs a more then a year old chipset i.e snapdragon 615. This chipset is known for very high heat dissipation and has moderate graphic performance for gaming. There is no gyro sensor and the thickness(approx 11mm) is well beyond what the competition is offering, this gives it a very chubby appearance. Also the display is IPS not Amoled.

Keeping all these points in mind it was necessary to price it aggressively but Moto failed at this. It should have been priced around INR 16K max for 32GB variant and INR 15K for 16GB variant. But pricing also had to be apart with the Moto G 3rd Gen which sells at INR 13K .The price of Moto G is somewhat justified as it comes with IP67 water resistance but Moto X Play does not even offer that.

At 18,500 INR we can get One Plus One easily saving a few bucks and getting 3 GB ram and next gen snapdragon 801 Soc
