Fingerprint scanner had be in the 1. generation Motorola Moto X. Motorola wanted to buy a company that produced this technology, but in the competition won Apple and bought this company. Competing solutions wasn't so good as the original fingerprint, so Motorola officialy say that their phones will not have fingersprint until have not quality as on the iPhone.
SDB, 29 Jul 2015810 is not by any mean the better processor.. In fact 808 is much more optimized, battery frie... moreThis is not what comparative tests say when comparing both processors, e.g. look at the Antututu scores::
- Galaxy S6 (Exynos 7420): 67,520 (for reference)
- OnePlus 2 (S810): 63,500
- HTC One M9 (S810): 56,836
- LG G4 (S808): 49,480
The OnePlus 2 is up there with the S6 thanks to 4GB of blazingly fast RAM. Even taking the M9 as a reference for the S810, there is a big gap of performance between the S808 and the S810, not least because LG, just like Motorola went with the higher resolution display...
Or just look at GFX Bench Manhattan on-screen:
HTC One M9: 56,836
LG G4: 49,480
Overall there will be a 15-20% difference in performance, which will be quite noticeable. This is the combined result of the higher resolution and inferior CPU.
K, 29 Jul 2015Someone at Moto has said that they'll never include a fingerprint scanner in their products. They already did. Motorola Atrix.
Jay, 29 Jul 2015I mean USB-C and finger print scanner would have make it the real game changer Hope Motorola ... moreSomeone at Moto has said that they'll never include a fingerprint scanner in their products.
y, 29 Jul 2015what??I mean USB-C and finger print scanner would have make it the real game changer
Hope Motorola is listening....
Jay, 29 Jul 2015It's a phone to die for IF it had a finger print scanner and USB-Cwhat??
Nice phone! Hoping that once it will be available in Philippines it's gonna be a less expensive.
Using the Sony IMX230 which is brand new, 1/2.4 and so it should finally provide good photos for a Motorola phone.
OIS is so overrated on mobiles, it's been quite shit, digital stabilization has been far better, Apple do it great with the iPhone 6.
paralepiped, 29 Jul 2015Impressive screen-to-body ration and ridiculous thickness, 11 mm is a 2009's standard. Further... morethickness is not the matter here.. it is said that it is 11mm at the thickest.. This is because of the curve on the back.. On the edges its even slimmer than iphone .. This helps you get a better and comfortable grip.. You should worry about the in hand feel and not the spec sheet
Saransh, 29 Jul 2015I would suggest Not to buy Moto phones, as their display screen cost more than 70% of the phon... moreThat was because of the amoled.. its not a problem only with motorola but any phone with amoled screen... anyway they have dropped amoled this time.. :)
puremind, 29 Jul 2015Seems like the OnePlus 2 will be the better offering. Not that it has better specs across the ... more810 is not by any mean the better processor.. In fact 808 is much more optimized, battery friendly and dissipates much less heat.. performance wise 810 might have a little edge but that will go down as soon as the heat rises..
puremind, 29 Jul 2015Not so fast...! Even though the screen size is 5.7 inches, the dimensions of the phone are ac... moreyou are right, it's body to screen size ratio is 76% that makes it a bit smaller than any other phone of that screen size.
MrHollow, 29 Jul 2015Yeah and No NFC and No Quick Charge... and regarding the camera, we shall see!it has nfc
kerkar, 28 Jul 2015Amoled Actually its a TFT LCD. That's what it says on their website.
Bruce wayne, 29 Jul 2015dont have an ois? ha ha ha very funnyIt might. On their website it claims to have "video stabilisation" which could mean OIS. We shall see.
AnonD-285148, 29 Jul 20155.7 inch screen! too big screen size for a phone moto! So next gen would be 6.7 inch?!!Not so fast...!
Even though the screen size is 5.7 inches, the dimensions of the phone are actually smaller or similar than most 5.5 inches phones!
76,2 mm for the Moto X Style (5.7)
77,2 mm for the Asus Zenfone 2 (5.5)
76,1 mm for the LG G4 (5.5)
77,8 mm for the iPhone 6 Plus (5.5)
And compared to 5.7 offerings:
77,7 mm for the Xiaomi Mi Note Plus
78,6 mm for the Note 4
In 2015 only Meizu MX5 (74,7mm), Meizu M2 Note (75,2mm) and OnePlus 2 (74,9mm) do better in the 5.5 inches department.
As such it will be very similar to most current 5.5 inches phones out there in terms of usability. Of course, if 5.5 inches is already too big for you, then this will feel the same (still 2mm less than iPhone 6 Plus...)
