Flowerking, 25 Mar 2016what is stock android?Let me explain.
Almost every smartphone runs Android, except for iPhones. Android is a OS (operating system) based on Linux kernel and is originally created by Google. It is an open-source platform, means that everyone can access and modify the OS, unlike iOS. Thats why its called AOSP (Android Open Source Project)
Each manufacturer modifies Android so that it perfectly fits into the device and all the buttons and controls work. Well, most of the maufactutrers also modify the interface so that it looks different from Google's original, material design. They also add so-called "bloatware", this is software of programs, that is pre-installed. Some experts also call those programs "out-of-the-box" cause its already there when you unbox it.
This bloatware consumes the internal storage (ROM) and also RAM. You can disable this bloatware in the settings, but unfortunately it still consumes power. Its simply still there and that makes the OS look busy and sometimes, combinated with modified interface, its even ugly.
The "original" untouched Android is called "Stock-Android" or "Vanilla-Android". It looks beautiful, has no bloatware and stock Android also means that updates will come fast. Also the user experience is much better. There is no battery-draining and both RAM and ROM consuming bloatware. This Android version is mostly used in Googles own "Nexus" phones or on Motorola devices. Thats what Motos and Nexuses are highly praised for.
As mentioned before, most of the manufacturers prefer modifying Android and add useless bloatware or reskinn the OS. Those "skinns" are called UI (User Interface). For example, Samsungs UI is called "TouchWiz", HTCs is called "Sense", OnePlus' is called "OxygenOS" etc.

I love my phone. I say "my" phone as opposed to Moto X style because the customization that Motorola allows is pretty special. The second display (once you get used to it) is AMAZING. I really wouldn't want to go back to not having a second display. The gestures are great, the camera is amazing, and the phone is fast. I do not know why other reviews on here are suggesting that the phone is slow...I have had mine for six months and OK GOOGLE as well as all apps (I have 20 games downloaded plus several business/organizational apps) works immediately. Does the phone get warm? Yeah, it does. It by no means gets HOT though. If I'm playing a game for an hour straight on any phone, the device will get warm. I had the Nexus 5x before trading it in for this one, and the Nexus 5x got hot enough to force you to put down your phone; the Moto X Style is just barely warm enough to make my hand a little toasty after long gaming sessions. It charges quick and looks great. 10/10.

Hey, I want a moto style, but I have my doubts, his performance its good? I mean...it have lags or things like that?
Other question, someone already update his moto to marshmallow? How about the battery? The performance? Some bad things or everything goes better?

i'm seriously disappointed with motorola service.
i have insurance with appsdaily my display has been cracked accidentally.
i gave my phone to the appsdaily service centre on 9-2-2016 motorola accepted my documents & device for rapairing on 19-2-2016 but today the date is 22-3-16 almost 43 days & still no response from motorola or appsdaily

I love moto x style. this phone is amazing. i love the gestures to turn on the camera and the flash ligth, sound quality of the speakers, the voice control, the ultra fast charging of the battery, the big 2k screen. the camera is also top rated. posibly not the best in low ligth but incredibly good in fast focusing and video stabilzation. the performance is also awesome. Yes, some times it runs warm but there is not thermal throttling like on the nexus 6p, try to run a benchmark twice and you will see of what i am talking about.

Yes, it does heat up and throttle. Battery is soso, 4~5hr sot, not impressived. Performance sucks for sure. Keeping up the UI smooth NO necessary means it has performance, this phone is slow when loading apps and some websites. Also, mediocre experience from 3D gaming. Camera is great in day light, but low light situation is bad as other phones. I wouldn't say this phone lags, but you also can't feel the speed from it.

I don't think so yes it's heated up but not like as u guys explain. Battery is enough for moderate usages but better than my Xperia c5 ultra.camera just awesome .it's looks premium

I have one and I hate to use it, it heats up the battery does not last and to endure the day have to use the lowest brightness
I miss my first MotoG, second only in processing speed.

This is the worst phone I have ever had. Here is why:
1. The internet is slow
2. It took 20 min to download an app
3. It heats up all the time
4. The Bluetooth wouldn't pair with my car
5. I got a voicemail and it said it couldn't download it
6. Battery Saver Mode reduces the device's performance
7. OK Google worked twice then stopped
8. If you prefer a black background instead of white, it changes the rest of the phone's colors to look like Romper Room on crack. It also changes your Gallery photos to look like you are looking at a negative.
9. The Color Inversion feature as well as others "may affect the performance of the phone. WHY offer a feature if it affects the performance??
10. The text messages will have a time stamp for the current day only. You can't go back to previous day and try to see what time someone sent you a text because only the date is there.
11. The battery life is horrible.
I have ordered a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 which will be arriving today. Can't wait to return this piece of crap!!!
