Motorola has posted release notes for the Android 5.1 update for both the first and second-gen Moto X as well as the Moto X Pure Edition, indicating that the devices are set to receive the update soon.
The first-gen Moto X is still at Android 4.4.4, which means that the Android 5.1 update for the device will also bring along Android 5.0 features, including Material Design, Lock Screen notifications, Quick Settings, a new flashlight option as part of Quick Settings, and the new Recent Apps page.
As for the second-gen Moto X and Moto X Pure Edition, which are already on Android 5.0, the update will bring along features such as Device Protection, Heads-up Notifications, reduced camera noise in low-light shots, as well as some performance-related improvements and bug fixes.
