is motorola soon gonna be outta business nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! :(
Motorola isn't going down just because they are cutting back by 4000 employees. Don't be ignorant. How many times has Sprint laid off their employees and hired them back a few months later? Its all a game to make shareholders happy.
Whats the difference between the Synergy UI and the Linux platform ??? thank you
No need to worry about the functions of this phone for much longer, with 4,000 job cuts planned by the end of June it's gonna be Bye Bye Moto pretty soon
I think it looks totally revolutionary compared to the current RAZR!
V9 has HSDPA and a card slot. It runs on the Synergy UI.
V8 has no card slot, EDGE, but runs on the Linux platform.
what is the difference between the motorola v8 and v9??? they look exactly the smae apart from the colour
I cannot believe Motorola has packed a 500MHZ processor in this tiny little clamshell....
Its the most stunning phone ever. Good job Motorola!
Now it would have been nice to use that big-crisp external screen to watch videos on instead of opening the flip and turning it sideways. Now that would have been revolutionary!!!
It's a good phone ,, I liked the internal memory size ! and the screen too
but the design ... we had enough with the same design ... can't Motorola be a bit more creative and make new designs on its mobile phones?
That's what I had in mind.. thanks all
this fone really rockss.. luv this fone so much.. actually its ma dream fone....
And the first commercial mobile fone by Bell. Just because you take credit for something doesn't mean you made it first.
Oh I know nothing, really Darkman:
Brought the digital phone to the world? Hehe! Read/know before you post!
You really are lost, but I have no need to defend my OPINION. I rest my case... little or no innovation leads to extinction.
So what if the cellular phone was pioneered by Motorola, that is really immaterial if you fall behind. And as such shouldn't Motorola take a few queue's from their past and embrace that pioneering spirit instead of having this RAZR tunnel vision?
Siemens: One of the first GSM (digital) phones (S1) 1994, first phone with a colour screen (S10) 1997 and the first active phone with protective casing (S10 Active), sell the first slider phone (SL10) 1999, purchase Bosch Mobile 2000, sell the first phone with MP3 player and external memory support (SL45) 2000, first phone with real GPS support (SXG75) 2005.
Motorola: "Motorola's networks division (called Personal Communication Section (PCS) prior to 2004) pioneered the flip phone with the StarTAC in the mid-1990s." (well done). "Motorola had a commanding lead in the analog cellphone market, but failed to jump on the digital bandwagon. This mistake combined with the lack of design innovation gave Finnish company Nokia the opportunity to leapfrog ahead of Motorola. Nokia today is the world's largest manufacturer of cellphones with a commanding 33% market share. Motorola is a strong number two with a 22% market share as of July, 2006.".
As of Q1 2007:
-Nokia : 91,100,000 35.5%(2007)... 75,100,000 32.2% 21.3% (2006)
-Motorola : 45,400,000 17.7% (2007)... 46,100,000 19.8% -1.5% (2006)
-Samsung : 34,800,000 13.6% (2007)... 29,000,000 12.4% 20.0% (2006)
-Sony Ericsson : 21,800,000 8.5% (2007)13,300,000 5.7% 63.9% (2006)
-LG Electronics : 15,800,000 6.2% (2007) 15,600,000 6.7% 1.3% (2006)
-Others 47,500,000 : 18.5% 53,900,000 (2007) 23.1% -11.9% (2006)
Listed as: total shipments, then market share, Q1 2006 total shipments and finally Year to Year growth (YTY).

Yeah... I know nothing.
To Grego, exactly you don't get anything about cellphone in the world, siemens drop very fast and benq mobile also have a bad business in mobile market, you don't look, don't hear, don't talk any more ??? Do you know the first mobile phone is made by ? huh ?
To Darkman. I think you don't know exactly what you are talking about, check Motos market share recently and other manufacturers. SE, Samsung, LG and Nokia are gaining ground... while Motorola are haemoraging money like a footballers wife. I used to respect Motorola for their great design, but you really can get TOO much of a good thing, the RAZR 2 looks old now. If it was released prior to the RIZR's and KRAZR's of yesterday then yes I would be jumping for joy, but NO... Motorola have done something stupid and I think most Moto fans would have to say that they would be a little disappointed with the current crop of phones coming from them.
I am not a Nokia fan and never have enjoyed the design of the N series very much but they have a game plan and it IS taking them places whereas Moto seem to be relying on loyalty instead of innovation in a market where you have to have the next big thing or perish.
Look what happened to Siemen's Mobile division. Good phones, loads of initial innovation, then they chose to rest on their laurels and now it is no more.
motorola always be the most beautiful phone in the world, look at the ugly nokia classic series, and nokia n series that comes in bulky 6 packs. but one thing that let moto down is, the unfriendly interface but well, i am a frequent user of moto phones so it is okay. moto v8 really cool, but for us singapore, 3g video call is not necessary, cos the environment doesn't support it (eventhough we have the service). well in this razr2 series, moto has gone on diet for about half size of razr but well, nothing seems to change much. and touch screen on the front panel is a bad idea. bad, bad idea. i dunno why moto keeps this habit. i ahd one maxx v6 ferrari limited edition, and the front panel is damaged in no time. people, krzr is the best series, and razr well, they are best without the front panel display.
it looks great, but the cell need other features like autofoucor 2nd camera, etc its a fasion phone but can someone tellme the price??? LOL
