Anonymous, 15 Nov 2019No SD slot, no 3.5mm jack, tiny battery, not so powerful chip along with a huge price tag hahaha It's more of a lifestyle phone.
This is the next big form factor and there is going to be lots of versions coming up. The confidence of Motorola lies in putting a bigger chin all around. By that the next versions can have thinner chin and bigger secondary display etc
Anonymous, 15 Nov 2019No SD slot, no 3.5mm jack, tiny battery, not so powerful chip along with a huge price tag hahaha It's not a phone made for power users and spec addicts. It's a phone made for nostalgia and fashion, and it's a looker for sure.
Dan, 15 Nov 2019Right idea, but not ready yet. Too much money for the options you get. Tech starts expensive, then gradually cheapens. It's the foldable OLED that makes this expensive, not the processor or other internals.
Price aside, this phone has the best engineered hinge yet for a foldable screen smartphone.

Finally a different and beautiful design to move forward in cell phones world .. back in time there was now way to have a smart with big screen phone in a small pocket size. Thank you Motorola

And ouch, man, you really went and stabbed me through the heart there. :(
Can someone explain... How do you make video call? With opened phone?
D'oh! (motorola dev team slapping their forehead).
NoWorldOrder, 15 Nov 2019At least it would be made in the US then and definitely not priced at $1500. Comments like you... moreHarassment? Did you even think about your first comment? If you cant afford it (since you are in government program to have a free phone and plan) then much better for you to shut up and do you think production in US is cheaper than china? Have you think about that?
Anonymous, 15 Nov 2019Then make your own phone and lets see how much to cost you making it.At least it would be made in the US then and definitely not priced at $1500. Comments like yours serve no purpose other than harassment in a failure to come up with a well thought up response...
Looking at the specs, not worth that price at all. Though, the same can be said of a few other phones that need not be named lol.
I know I'm not gonna buy this phone, that is granted. I would love to, but the price is too high and I was expecting it from the start. I don't complain about it as it is new device. I mean, it is a "test device" that may have some flies to polish up. Once the testing is done, I will really gladly consider the third gen once it is cheaper and polished out. Right now, it is pricey for me. And no, I'm not complaining about the price, it is justified.
Motorola's revenge on the iPhone for killing the flip phone.

I think the Snapdragon 710 was needed because it's more battery efficient than the 800 series. And Motorola didn't want to put a huge battery on it to make it even more thicker. It's already 14 mm thick when folded similar to og RAZR.
The og Pixel can hold its own after 3 years of release and the 821 is slightly inferior to the 710. This Razr also the same amount of RAM as the Pixel 4. Logic and any rationale gets thrown out the window when most people who want this is for design.
It's COMPACT. That's very, very important to alot of people. It's surprisingly heavy at 205 grams though. Galaxy Fold and Mate X are still bulky phones and don't show much polished durability.
Nostalgic trip from the old RAZR design or any flip phone from a bygone era also helps entices. This Razr and Surface Duo are the two phones to get within the next 13 months. Both so unique in a sea of sameness.
