    a v3 is twice the price of a k700i.your best bet would be a samsung e600, motorola v547/545, nokia 6020, 6610i or 3220

Hi. I need a new phone because i've recently spilt pepsi all over my sony ericsson k700i, and now its beyond repair. I can't afford a new k700i which is ashame cos it had everything i wanted. Im now considering getting a Motorola V3, it has a camera, bluetooth, mp3 player.. but my only worry is that it only has 5.5mb memory whereas my k700i had 41mb. Has anyone found that this is not enough memory for them or am i wrong?

the V3 is an excellent looking phone and very state of the art for the times, but as many ppl have stated on these post still resembles on the inside just the same as other phones...this is correct, bc the same company makes all types of phones, so you can't be mad that this phone is not the 'star wars edition', and to be forreal there are many other models out to buy, so why did you buy this one? Because it is different, and now that you have this phone you are different, so if you don't like your new V3, simply put, just buy a new one, and all you worries can be other worries when you get another phone that doesn't stand up to the so called hype...or, take the other persons advice, and sell it on ebay...the only problem i've found is not being able to keep the screen clean, and if you have big fingers the laser cut keys are sometimes difficult...that's all, makes all my call so far, but that's just so far. If a V3 is what you want, aquire one, but be aware, there are many new models to come...

Can the V3 take SD cards for more space, like the Nokia 6600?

                          krish,
this a forum for phone users to share their experiences and give opinions on the phone they own.
i am not saying the V3 is a bad phone, just that the user interfaces could be better (menus etc).
for somebody who may be wanting to purchase this phone then the information and opinions shared here could be invaluable and save the buyer parting with their hard earned (or not)cash on an unsuitable phone. if you have no complaints about your V3 then great, i am happy for you !

Those poeple who complained about the V3 being difficult to use or the manual being illogical, etc. must be seriously retarded coz I figured out how to use my V3 with just one quick browse of the manual ... maybe if they bothered to actually read...

Hey guys you are talking about the phone like it is a space shuttle. when you remember about 10 years ago a pc had a 100mb big harddisk and everybody was delighted with it. novadays the same people are talking crap about a mobile phone with 5mb. i think it is enough for a mobile phone. damn, it is only a phone. when you guys need more space then buy a pda or stop takling crap.

to the guy who compared the Mercedes Maybach to the motorola V3 !!! HA... u nailed it there, spot on correct!

the Maybach is basically a stretched 1991 S-class,with a nice shiny new body and interior on it. but it is still a crappy old S-class underneath.
likewise the V3 is nice and shiny and modern to look at, but inside it seems to be the SAME OLD CRAP what Motorola use on all their phones !
poor memory, the menus arent easy to use, it is just not as intuative to use, as say Nokias are. the functions dont come naturally to you, you really have to stop and think about what buttons you are pressing. i shall go back to my Nokia 6230 methinks!
and before anyone has a go at me, i have owned x2 Mororola V3 now and have been really nice and shiny and good to pose with, but only because it looks different.unfortunately when you peel away the glossy exterior, you are left witha very average phone.
guess what i am selling on e-bay now ???!!!

I'm stuck with the phone now. I get more annoyed with it the more I try to do with it. There has to be a way to expand the memory because 5.5mb is enough for 2 minutes at the KPS high enough to take advantage of the screen which is nothing once youve decided to take some photos for your phone book. But with a bit of tweeking you can reach the 10 minute mark which looks like WMV's crappy rez.
Another confusing thing is why it seems to sync which G5s and g4 laptops but not my G4DP mirror door even through a usb2 port which is beyond comprehension. Especially because I also running OSX10.3.8 which is five updates later than any of my friends machines.
Yet more I cant put contacts in two category groups for easy access. or allow me to search using more that just the first letter like with my old nokia which is a pain when the name begins with A or S... Right?
How can so much funding go into a fundamentaly flawed phone that will probably contain the same problems in every future generation becuase motorola have kept on not listening to the users of their phones.
Little thinks like rearnaging the screen which imposes horrible graphics in unnatural places on the screen with button sequences that test your reflexes from right enter button, to left enter button, to middle enter etc.. it's crazy.
.. Shortcuts well thats another thing ...if this phone want to be treated like a PDA then it should act like a PDA. If I want somthing to be easy to find I move it from it's folder not just create a short cut and special number in anothe folder full of other shortcuts... why is everything so difficult. the only reason I'm keeping it is because I cannot return it and that the data connection is currently the only think I can connect to the internet with via bluetooth.
Good luck to anyone who just wants a fancy mug me phone to hold on the train..

I wonder if all these people who say a lot of bad things about the V3, have really bought one for their personal use? Mercedes and V3 goes hand in hand, that's for sure. Remember the Macbath, which is a top luxury highest class made by Mercedes? Well, can you guys remember what kind of phones it had inside when came on market? it had a Motorola V70 and a Nokia Communicator. Well, guess what? The V3 will be inside of the heppy new buyers of 2005 Macbath model. Before having my V3, I used to have a V60 and a Nokia Communicator 9210. I gave bot6h of it away and replace it with the V3. I will probably buy a second phone, for special professional use, a new Nokia of some kind. I bet it will be a big and preety heavy phone, according to my personal needs, which I will carry in my suitcase. But,at my trousesr's belt, will be like a king, my V3 of course. So, the ideea is like this: do you have a lot of needs for the modern communication, then go buy yourself, whatever you think will make your life easier, but if you need a light beautiful phone for day to day use, go for the V3. It can easily be your second phone. But you will see that people will admire it more then your first option phone, trust me on this...
