Try look for other firmware version.
I haven't got the described problems on mine...
It's fairly easy to upgrade with the usb cable and some of the available software 'out there'
It took me a few hours to find the most appropriate software/firmware version for my purpose, and ten minuttes to upgrade.
If your using major languages there are several firmware versions available.
But only found one for danish ;-)

Yes ann marie, sms entereing is EXTREMELY slow.
But the good news is the that the battery gets better after being charged and discharged a couple of times.
Keyboard repetition rate of a few strokes per second is really awful. My guess is that that the technicians have set this low rate to avoid mechanical contact-problems with the fancy keyboard. Might be the trade off for the nice looking keyboard....
Does anyone know if there is a hack where one could try to tune this? I could live with a few double strokes if I get a better repetition rate.

I turn my volume down to 0 when im sleeping and it doesnt make any noise. I hope this helps. Is there any way to put more than 1 mp3 file on this phone? is there any software to delete any of the standard polys on the phone? can u help please?

The speaker volume is too quiet even when I adjust it to the maximum of "7".
I suppose this is another fault of the V3. Can anyone help?

There is no way to turn off the message "BEEP". It is really annoying at night! My friends V80 & V600 do the same as my V3. Moto design is not so thoughtful!

Only got v3 2day and dont no much bout it. It beeps everytime i recieve a text message but i can amagine this can be turned off, or the phone put on silent for u 2 sleep

congrat on getting a v3... since you got a v3. can you tell me whether a v3 beeps everytime after u received a text or when its on low batt. i got a v70 last time and it beep everytime i got a text. this gets me agitated when it happen during midnight.
(imagine your mobile beeping all night long)

Just took dilevery of my lovely V3 today. Already 5 people asked to see it and were amazed. Unfortunately i only managed to squeeze 1 mp3 onto it, can anyone tell me how to put more on it. This phone has surpassed its self and i dont regret buying it. It is unlike anything else out there on the market and looks like something from 50 years from now. This phone cost me £500 and its worth every bit. D500 is CHEAP and PLASTIC. Does not hold a candle to V3. Dont get D500 its black boring, go for style, GO FOR V3!

To Big Pimpa-choose between the D500 and the V3...don't get the 6170...Nokia doesn't know how to make good clamshell phones.
To Ram-can you give us specific (and VALID) reasons why you think that Moto sucks?
To newc0895-exactly! This is primarily a phone, and as a phone, this ia actually very good.
To Mandy-This has no substance? Compare this with Nokia's so-called fashion phones (7260, 7270, 7280)...those three phones look really bad...and those are phones that have no substance.

I just got the Motorola V3 yesterday and am very happy with it. No you can't store loads of mp3s on it but if I want to do that I'll buy an ipod. Its looks are fantastic and this is the real reason for getting one. I had it at a New Years Eve party and everyone wanted one based on the looks alone. If you really are into all the fancy techno features then this phone may not be for you, go for the D500 but if you want a phone that makes calls, sends texts and looks out of this world then get yourself one of these.

Hi no the d500 does not have a memory card slot. It has 80MB of standard memory. The V3 only allows you to play with 5MB of their memory. I am currently looking at 3 phones. The V3, D500 and stainless-steel nokia 6170. I still havent made up my mind. To HOTTE_LIPZ 71 im from Ireland Woooo Hoooo!

To BIG PIMPA-the D500 has a memory card slot, ryt? Anyway, I guess so...although that is more exclusive...but it still has a feature list made of crap!

this phone looks fabulous but the features r shit and the camera is ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL, but then again, if you want a phone just for the looks, go for it

U cant even put 1 full mp3 on a v3. u can put 20 on a d500. Still im gettin the v3 for the looks!
